Yeah pretty much what I figured. The smart thing would be to not mess around and find out. Is it really worth gambling your life over a slightly cheaper maverick. šŸ¤”
I would run for the hills!

I would buy a Honda Civic for 15K, probably have 100k miles, put an order in for a Ford Maverick and sell the Honda Civic when the Mav gets here. Honda civics going to retain most of its value at this point and just don't take any road trips with it
Sigh. Maybe I’ll just suck it up and get a Fusion. Man I don’t want to drive a sedan.. šŸ˜‚

I have a compact sedan right now and yeah it's not ideal but they're so cheap on gas and maintenance. That way you can focus on saving money for the truck

Yea that is a high interest bad credit sketchy dealer. Avoid at all costs.
I noticed that too. Wasn’t going to let them get me on any financing, but i get what you mean. Red flags. Wouldn’t put it past them to sell a sketchy salvaged vehicle. Chances are it would be fine, but it’s an unnecessary risk. :/

I get what you mean. My thought process was it might make more sense to get a truck now (not necessarily the salvaged one anymore) because when I go to resell the sedan it’ll have depreciated at least half. Long term financially, might be better to bite the bullet now which should save me money later. Fortunately I’m in a position I can buy it outright, I’m just not happy about the timing. Having to buy one that’s already built and marked up stings since the alternative is wasting money on a sedan until next year when I might get my truck built. :/

I mean if you can get the truck you want for like two or three over MSRP then it might be worth it

Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping for. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have the privilege of overpaying for a XL. 😭 Lesson learned, don’t wreck your car before your 2024 delivery.

@Truckless is an XL what you really want? If not can you take a few more days to see what comes available in your geographic area?

Man that's nuts 3k over for rebuilt title. I checked out a used 22 XLT loaded up for 31k Canadian, 10k UNDER MSRP and decided to pass on it, it was for sale for another month afterwards until finally sold

Sure- but competition is always high for any mavericks nowadays. Unfortunately I don’t think more time will help, and I need a car asap so I’m SOL. Gotta love living somewhere car dependent lol.

I'm seeing ba lot better prices around. Might be cheaper to fly some place and drive it back
Yup, I considered this too. I’ve called a lot of places and it’s usually the same story. ā€œOh yeah it’s available, we’re asking 5k+ over MSRP. Oh, it said it was MSRP online? Oh man that’s crazy, oops.ā€ Or ā€œyeah that’s not available, it’s a customer order. If they cancel we’ll call you (but just so you know we’re gunna mark it up because we can lol).ā€
