I live in San Antonio, TX and the closest Ford Dealer is Red McCombs Ford where I bought my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid. Twice now I have gotten an appointment to have recall repairs done and when I get to the dealership they take my truck and tell me they will call when the work is finished and sure enough several hours later I get an e-mail telling me I can pick up my truck. However, when I get there they then tell me the parts were not available and they are on special order and they will call me when the parts come in. In the case of the air bag recall they never did call me and about six weeks later I stopped by the Service Department and whoops the parts were in but I was never contacted. There may be something going on with this particular service department but I wonder if anyone else anywhere in TX is having this same experience.

I would say that “Customer Service” in general, post-pandemic, is atrocious. Ford’s dealership network isn’t immune to this issue but my hope is it’s slowly improving.

That kind of stuff happens here in Kentucky also, and my dealer is a very good one.

For safety recalls Ford wants to hear from customers when dealers aren't responsive on completing them. They want to make sure the dealers are complying with federal requirements. Contact Ford customer service and file a complaint about your dealer.

It’s normal. I had the same issue. I finally had to call the owner of the dealership to get the work completed. Won’t go back to that dealership.

This is my exact experience with the same dealership sir! The other dealership close to me, North Side, was not much better.

I requested that they order the recall parts back in Jan when they performed my first oil change and I never go a call back, when I would call in the front desk associate would forward my calls to the service manager who never calls me back.

I have still not yet had my recall completed. It is very frustrating as a first time Ford owner and I don't think I will be buying a Ford again because of this even though the car has been wonderful.

I'm sure its much more complicated than what we as the customers are able to observe but I am not sure if there is any rational excuse to why you would ignore a customer who is getting a recall done. If done right, it is an opportunity for follow on business which would have been likely on my part because I have been eyeballing a Mustang GT 5.0 for a while now. But like I said in the post above after my horrid interactions with both Northside and Red McCombs I dont think I will be buying a Ford again.
