The E-CVT is not a cvt transmission, The E-CVT is electronic and has one main "PLANETARY-GEAR" that is "CONTROLED" by two electronic/module's these module's tell it what "RATIO" to get in when it is going up a hill and or when it is passing or just flat out flying, The "RATIO" is determined by two "ELEC/MODULE'S" And has no"BELTS" and or no moving parts in it other than the "PLANETORY-GEAR" The "HYBRID"-ENGINE" and the "E-CVT" transmission if you want to call it that is design by "TOYOTA" and is a very reliable and dependable drive train that TOYOTA used int it early "PREVAS" Model "FORD-MTR-COMPANY" Signed a license agreement for this several years back. So according to "CONSUMER/REPORT" this is a very reliable combonation and well proven, and that this has been put into other ford model over the years now like the ford ford/escapt!!! the only diff is the Maverick "HYBRID" has been built in Mexico and they are having quilty control issue's with that plant in Mexico so in late Aprill they moved all the Maverick HYBRID-ENGINE bact to there plant here in the great U.S. for quilty control hopefully this will take care of the engine/fire reclls all mavericks being built since may and june now have U. S. Engines/HYBRID in them and there is a sticker to this effect attached to the side window no that the E-CVT Trans and the HYBRID Engine is built in the U. S.

Great explanation! The Fusion Energi-hybrid is very reliable. I own 2016 Fusion PHEV, 120000 miles. Very similar setup in Mav. I agree problems seem to be more related to wiring and other subsystems unique to the maverick, not necessarily the transmission.

Well, I liked it in my Escape Hybrid. The Ecoboost 8 speed - not so much. I've had a Subaru Crosstrek with a CVT and I hated it, as well as the terrible shift points in a 3rd gen Tacoma. My favorite by far has been the Escape. Hopefully a swap on the EB will cure my woes (they are ordering parts right now that likely won't fix it and I'll have to go back one more possibly even two more times) - but that Escape just booked it when I needed it to. I had zero issues with it (But had numerous other issues addressed in recalls and TSB's). My Escape was a '22 SE AWD Hybrid Sport.

In 2004 (ish) Ford independently designed their eCVT but it was very similar to Toyota's. By mutual agreements Ford got to keep making the eCVT and they gave Toyota permission to use some of Ford's intellectual property. (Maybe it was traction control technology but don't quote me on that, it was a long time ago).

Interestingly, Toyota is now using a version of the Maverick transmission in the newest Prius (I read).

I didn’t know the “HYBRID/ENGINES” were built in “MEXICO”. And I thought the quality issues were mostly from ”SUPPLIERS.”

Where did you get this “INFORMATION”?
this is commonly known that the Maverick Hybrid was produce in Mexico and the same HYBRID engine is in the ford escapt all though it's engine is made here in the U.S.

Louisville Assembly Plant is not an engine plant.
