Mine was $41,500 OTD. I find it an incredible value. People knock paying extra for the Lariat, but it adds a bunch of nice features. I couldn't get a similarly equipped truck for within 5k of what I paid. Value depends on what you are looking for, and a Maverick with no added BS can be a great value at $40k of you added smart options.
Yep- Rolling hard with a 20K truck with 15k worth of add on fluff +T/L - For us was just over 38k- Wouldn't have it any other way - Having a trade in to offset some of the sales tax was win/win

We all need to stop saying "$20K truck" - that's a lie. It's not a $20K truck in 2023. It's $24K truck, stripped to the bones. Maybe we should be saying "it's a $20K truck that starts at $24K if you are lucky enough to get one".

I think the OP is real, not a troll. And I applaud him walking away from a $40K Tremor if it wasn't for him. Who are we to second guess somebody's individual buying decision? I was on the edge paying $30,500 (no markup) for my loaded XLT last year. It was right at the point where it felt like putting lipstick on a pig. But it's been OK for me and it's delivered a reliable, if unexciting daily ride.

Some people like the process of shopping for cars more than actually buying cars. When I sold cars we had perpetual tire kickers come in all the time. They'd test drive, get us to run numbers, but the deal was never quite right for them. They'd come back 6 months later and do it all over again. It's a sickness really. OP knew the price when he ordered it, waited months for it to come in, then bailed. Makes no sense to normal people who don't like wasting time spinning their wheels.
You left off... Goes to the MTC to report his non-purchase with people wishing their ordered vehicle would come in.

I think the OP's biggest sin was simply sharing here. Truly, no one really cares whether he buys the truck. And it's honestly none of our business. The fact that he shared it simply opened him up to potshots from keyboard warriors and those who choose to feel slighted because someone "took an order spot."

There was nothing to stop anyone from placing 50 Maverick orders last September if you wanted to. And nothing to stop anyone from walking away from the trucks now.

If you want to be mad at any entity be mad at Ford. They created this stupid game. The rest of us just have to figure out whether we want to play.

Agree, folks need to lay off the, 'it's a $20K truck'. It is a $24K truck with delivery. Of course a $40k Tremor has little in the way of 'value'... It's payload is reduced and you can't tow much with it. It's not 'valueable' in the sense of it's 'utility' as a truck.

However, how is it a 'stripped to the bones' truck? It has 4 doors wth seating for 5, A/C, Power Windows, Power Locks, Hybrid (40mpg economy) or Turbo (250hp power, 30mpg economy) powertrain, touch screen entertainment system, cruise control. It's a generously equipped vehicle for $24K.

Even better at $27k by adding AWD and the 4K tow package; a much more capable truck. Beyond that, most of the options add less and less value.

He probably has other orders at different brands for more vehicles he won't end up buying.

Hey
I was just saying the dealership was legit.
Look when I ordered that truck their were none to really look at so I took a shot.
Just didn’t like the truck that much when I saw it.As for wasting a spot in line(really)
When I buy a vehicle I pay for it outright The comment about $40 grand being cheap for a new truck is correct and in my opinion with the Maverick that’s what your getting. For those who have received your new trucks good luck with them.

OK - that makes a lot more sense and answers many of the questions being asked here. Your initial post implied you just didn't like the price (which you certainly should have known when you placed the order).

But actually not liking the truck when you finally got to see one for the first time is a whole different justification for wanting to walk away. And that one I can understand, for sure.

The first time I saw the brown interior of the Lariat, I thought "No way! That's hideous! I don't want that in my truck." But that was on a Velocity Blue truck, where the contrast was just WAY too much. But I thought it looked "OK" with some of the other colors. I actually wound up buying an Area 51 with the Lariat package (rejected order), and have grown to like the combination .

But still, when the '23s came out, and the Black Appearance Package became available, I knew that the black seats would really look good in my Cyber Orange Maverick. Now having seen pictures of other people's CO with BAP, I can hardly wait for mine to arrive. (Build week 6/5!)

Same here 42k out the door, no mark up, I just wanted an xlt but couldn't find one. Its kinda nice having an option maxed out vehicle, never done that before.

From the underwhelming amount of Mavericks ordered with the Tremor package compared to how many Ford expected to see orders for and build, you're not the only one. I feel the same about the Black Appearance Package, $1645 for them to basically paint some parts black verses the standard trim is a bit much. The truck comes with seats, wheels, lights, door handles to begin with, they want to charge $1600 to do them in black/blackout?? I do like the looks of the package, just couldn't justify the price when everything but the seats I could do or closely replicate myself if I choose. And on second thought, I could probably get black seat covers lol
Honestly to me the upper trims look tacky with the color matched handles and side mirrors

I mean... I skipped out on my Maverick because for 40k + tax and fees (Lariat Tremor), add in the wait time, and the lower quality interior and for me, I realized that for my lifestyle, I can get a lot more car that might be maybe a year or two used...

Idk - it too didn't make sense to me - so I skipped out on my order.

I'm glad everyones Mavericks work so well for them to get so worked up... kind of weird to see...

My turn to get murdered in the comments ;)

I am the beneficiary of this cancelled order as I was in the right place at the right time. When he decided not to purchase the Tremor, I happened to be at the dealership and was able to purchase it at sticker.
I have no issue with anyone deciding something they ordered is not for them once they actually see it. In this case, I am happy he came to that decision and thank him as I did not have any Maverick ordered. Was a good day for me.
As for the price, I was not concerned. If it was not a Tremor I still would have bought it as I wanted a Maverick for a specific purpose and trim would not have mattered. If I actually had a choice, I would have bought what my friend has - XLT, 2 wheel drive, ecoboost, luxury package. I believe he paid $25,000.00. That is where the true value is in this truck and of course the hybrid for those concerned with mpg. But then value is in the mind of the person paying the bill.
As to the dealership, All American Ford in Old Bridge was very fair, no mark up, good people and I am very thankful they gave me the opportunity to buy this truck.

Average transaction prices on F150's are now in the mid $60,000 range...

I find the $40K I spent on my loaded Lariat, OTD at $43,800 and an 8 year 100k Ford Premium Protection plan a reasonable deal in today's screwed up auto market...

Curious, why not add Copilot 360 Assist if your spending that much?
