My first thoughts were to mount it on the tailgate just below the hybrid badge, but I like the idea of the dash. A 50yr old piece (white metal?), chrome plated might be better off inside.
They are about 3 1/2" wide. I put the idea on indefinite hold when the cheapest on I could find (good condition) was going to cost me about $50.

There’s a few places for new reproductions that offer different styles - either stick on or the stud/nut style. Google found them starting around $25, like Dennis Carpenter $27.50
