The back of mine latches with a tension pull down. I would take a picture but my truck is at the dealer, day 2 for the airbag recallšŸ˜– Anyway, to attach the cover after unlatching I have to get on my back, slide in and pull the latch down with all my body weight. It’s pretty impossible once I load the bed☹
Sound similar to the line-x I had on a 21 Ranger that thing was near impossible to latch. Reaching in over the tailgate and being short. I’ve never had luck with covers not leaking, so I just bought a cheap soft fold for looks and to keep the occasional items in bed out of sight.

That’s all I really need but I do need to be able to latch it or it’s useless. What kind of latch is on yours? I just looked at my window sticker and it just says soft fold since it was included in the FE package, so I don’t know what brand it is☹

I think that the Ford branded soft fold is made by one of the Real Truck brands. now exactly which one of their brands, I don’t know since they have several.

Yes I thought it looked like one of theirs, maybe the Extang Trifecta 2.0.

Thank you! I might have to splurge after reading how good this cover is. I’ll have to see if I can get a discount.
PM Realtruck in this forum. Alex gives a very good discount; on any cover. I wouldn’t order it until the truck is at the dealership. It only a couple days to come in, and that way you have the full 30 return/exchange window.

The original reason I didn’t get the X4S, besides cost, was some reviews about it after a freezing rain. The rails can be ā€˜stuck’, until it thaws. And rolling it in the winter, might be tricky. I figure I don’t plan to use the bed in the winter anyway, and I could easily live with that versus the things I ran into with the Pro X15. Plus I park in a garage.

This one you just roll it out then at very end it has two catches that you just push down on corners on top of cover and they snap under rail. Has Velcro along sides. I latch it then I go along sides and lift up on edges to pull Velcro apart and give a little tug to take a few minor wrinkles out then I run the palm of my hand along side to make sure Velcro is firmly fastened. I’ve never found that it wasn’t but just like to make sure. Then I close tailgate. To open just open tailgate and there’s a little strap hanging down pull on it and latches pull back, then roll it back. Once it stops raining, I’ll go take a couple of pics.

Did you end up with the Pro X25? I park in the garage as well.

Thanks, I’ll look at that one.

Here’s the pics. The cover has 3 attached bars that run across the cover to add support to the canvas. It’s rained a bunch the last two days and came through some rain yesterday that was so hard I had to slow down to 25mph and wind was gusting to 30mph the canvas does buffet up and down some but not bad and bed was dry just now. But I’ve seen some water( maybe a cup or two) on occasion. That little chipped place in pic with latch is where I got overly aggressive with getting the cover installed and adjusting the width at tailgate end. I ended up finding that I should have left all bracket clamps loose until getting top on and adjusted.

I have the BAK X4S
Oh, the first time I read your post I thought you were saying you didn’t get the X4S and then when I just reread it I realized you exchanged the Pro for the X4S. I really do like that one, just have to figure out the extra $$.

It was hard to pay more for it, but I have no regrets. As I mentioned PM @Realtruck on here, you might be surprised on the price. If you want a tailgate seal, he can do that too; that is how I got mine.

Yes it definitely looks like it is worth the $$! I’ll PM him as soon as I get notification my truck is in production. Is the tailgate seal necessary? Does it attach to the tailgate or the und of the cover?

Since it can take 4 weeks for the truck to get delivered, I’d wait until it is at, or very close, to the dealer. So you have as much of the 30 exchange window. Unless there is some super sale going on.
I would not call the tailgate seal necessary, but it helps with dust and some water intrusion at the tailgate. It is applied to the truck. That video I include in my prior post shows it.
