I wish Hondas were bullet proof. We had a 2013 CR-V for 8 years and had the battery replaced 4-5 times. The first two were under warranty. The next 2-3 were on us. They kept telling us, they couldn't figure it out. Ultimately they told us it was a known problem for years.

The alternator wouldn't charge the battery on short trips to make the engine more efficient. Since my wife took mostly short trips, the battery never charged adequately and kept dying every 18-24 months. The design was bad; the lying was worse.

First, I would get offers on the Maverick from Carvana and/or Carmax and/or Vroom. Then get the VIN of the Honda and do the same thing. Then you can compare values and negotiate if the Maverick comes out higher. You need to have something to compare values unless you really just want one VS. the other.... ;)

Honda has taken a nosedive in overall reliability rankings over the past decade. Also, the 1.5T in that CRV has had all kinds of issues (oil dilution lawsuit). I would not assume this vehicle is more reliable than the Maverick.

I'm in Canada Ontario and there is only 1 hybrid for sale for 47000 I paid 36k out the door so I was thinking I could get into that Honda for pretty much 36k I do love the truck tho I do know about the 1.5 oil dilution

For fun, I tried to run the Honda VIN through Vroom. They said they do not quote/buy leased vehicles. It appears the Honda was on a lease. If so, I wonder why it ended up a Ford dealership??? I am not sure the Ford dealer would have paid off the lease on a trade for a Ford/Lincoln. I would ask the dealer more about the history of the Honda. Auction? Carfax report? May be a reasonably good explanation. 🤔 🤔 🤔

I just noted dealer shows Carfax report. Not quite as much detail as a Carfax report in U.S so a bit unclear to me.

The Mav is cooler than the CRV, period.

I had a 2012 crv same battery problem. The BMS (I Was told did not start charging until the open circuit voltage was, I forget exactly what but let's say 11.7 so the battery would have to drop to about 12.0-12.1 v soc for the alternator to kick in at 14.4+ but that would be open circuit reading.). Any way my cure was to leave fan on at speed 2 and leave DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ON, which was enough draw to keep alternator at generally 14.4 or more open circuit reading at the beginning or close to beginning of drive. I also would try to put a noco 5amp maintainer on battery for 2-3 days every 4-6 months. When I gave my crv to my granddaughter I had 64 months on my 4th battery. I was told that delaying battery charging would increase mpg by reducing load on alternator. I also loved my cigarette style voltage meter which I kept on most of time so I could see the 12v bus voltage. FYI my hybrid maverick 12v bus voltage will read in cold weather (less than 45°F) will read 14.6-15.3°F presumably running heat pot to get dang battery temp up some before ice warms up and takes over, but who knows....
