I know it’s just Waldorf ford being total buttheads. Talked ford corporate about it today on the phone and they were extremely apologetic. I cannot wait for the day when ford sells directly to the customer and doesn’t need these bs dealers

Seems like you gave up kinda easy? Did you not really want the truck? :unsure:
I really wanted the truck but I’m not gonna pay bs dealer mark-ups. Talked to the sales manager and the general manager and they would not budge off of “we need to make money too you know” excuse. I got six different excuses and about 3 different stories about why they couldnt do anything for the price. So I walked. I’ll get another maverick somewhere else.

Three Words: Signed Buyer's Order

All this pain and anguish could have been avoided if a Buyer's Order was done that listed all costs and showing the total out-the-door price and signed and dated by the customer and the General/Sales Manager of the dealership.

Here on the Maverick Truck Club there were many post about getting a Signed Buyer's Order done to protect from this example of dealerships that screw customers.

I did a Signed Buyer's Order about 2 months after I had ordered in October 2021 and exactly what was listed on it is what I paid.

If the dealership tries to talk you out of doing a Signed Buyer's Order that raises red flags and you should expect problems like this one.

My dealer had no reservations doing it and it gave me piece of mind that I was going to get my Maverick at the agreed upon price.

Well, they certainly displayed their true colors. Sorry you picked a scum dealer to order with. Better luck next round! (I hope you at least ding them with poor reviews on all the search webs...)

How many other customers happened to accidently overhear your displeasure about how the dealer was taking advantage and giving a raw deal?
Every single one would know. I'm generally a quiet, non confrontational person, but I would have lost my $h!t if this had been me.

1,648 for a stupid digital plate....who in the hell would want that?
They are bulky. Some States don't even fully allow them yet or there is a massive yearly fee. They are here in California, but I rarely see them. (I just looked it up.. $20 a month subscription.. no thank you)

Three Words: Signed Buyer's Order
Next time. The 2 local dealers I contacted said nothing about a signed order. One did give me an order sheet.
After placing an order, leaving an appropriate deposit......Who are these people
I did not leave a deposit, they did not require one. As far as who these people are.....well....The Aaron Ford KBB used car manager that pinned me in a room, repeatedly showing me the Ford webpage that said dealers can do what they want? The guy that demanded a 15k markup, and even called me greedy because I ordered more than one truck? The one that told me they did not make any money on an MSRP order and could show me the invoice to prove it? He is either a miserable individual who hates his job, or a true sociopath. Can you imagine if it was your job to chase off customers who placed a special order months prior and came in expecting to buy it at the agreed upon price?

I too am sorry that this was your experience. I was very fortunate when, after 18 months, I picked my '23 XLY up last Friday. I had my check for the full agreed-to sales price of $27,150. They handed me an invoice for $30150 including taxes. I showed them my copy of the agreed-to price on my phone and we were off to the races. After 15 minutes I noticed they had left off my $2750 rebate from when they bumped me from a '22 to a '23 with the $3K price hike. When we were done I had a $150 credit. That is I guess one good thing about living in Mayberry- fear of small town anger.

I half-way expected them to want me to sign a dreaded "I will not resell my truck for $$$ for 12 months" affidavit. I would have been willing to if it was 12 months from dat of order, but they said now a word. I even brought them croissants from the bakery the next morning.

I ordered my Maverick September 2022 and took delivery about April 11th 2023 from Dean Sellers Ford, Troy, MI with no issues absolutely no price increase and customer service was awesome.

I added Waldorf Ford to the list of dealers. I maintain a spreadsheet that lists good and bad dealers based solely on people actually trying to purchase their Maverick.

The best advice I saw was the person (@huunvubu) who suggested you have a mutually Signed Buyer's Order. In the example above, an AutoNation dealership Buyer's Order was presented. I also purchased both of my Mavericks from an AutoNation dealership. I believe all AutoNation dealerships play by the same corporate rules.

If you decide to try again when the order banks open for the 2024 Model Year, select a dealership from the list I shared above.

i thought that the CEO of Ford said they would not allow dealer to mark up price and they would take their floor plan
