Hey this is my first truck (everyone has their first) and I wanted to get a cover for the back, and maybe some thing to organize the back for groceries or if I go on a trip for luggage. I was wondering what folks are buying? I went to the Ford dealership and the things they offered were what seemed WAY OVER priced for a 2022 XL Model. Thanks in advanced.

Edit: Some great options, and I am leaning towards the softcover, but I am concerned about if it will hold up under hail, or will I just be throwing money away and buying a new one after a hail storm?

It depends on what you are looking for. There are fabric tonneau covers for a few hundred dollars that will keep things relatively dry but don't offer much for security.
Hard covers will cost a bit more.

Take a peek at https://realtruck.com to see a bunch of options. When you get ready to order, contact John Gellert III <[email protected]> and mention you are an MTC forum member and you can get a discount.

I went with the BAKflip MX4 tonneau cover and really like it.

Ah thank you. I will check that site out. I am not really looking for security, but more so to keep things from flying out while driving. Where would one find the fabric tonneau covers?

Also looking for something to keep it secure and wont slide around. a Net really wont help much lol

I got a gator cover from real truck, soft tri fold $269.00, cutting planks from wood i had laying around with some brackets from home depot .88 cents to hold the one in place. i can remove them if i want to. as for mulch i'm just going to use large trash cans like i use before with my rav4.

They have all different kinds of covers on the Real Truck website I linked above, fabric, hard, roll-up, tri-fold, etc.

NRS straps and a tarp for luggage. The right length bungee. You said cheap. You may need to add a few D-rings to the bed. I go grocery shopping and my bags have zippers. I just drop them back at the bulkhead and don't look back. No straps even required.

For the cover, I got the Truxedo Pro X15. Great but on the higher side of a soft roll up. You can get a lot out of a $200 cover.

Don't waste money on the cargo management system. A couple D ring tie downs and bolts for $25 will be fine. I am using 2 2x4 stacked in the bed to keep things sliding around. It works perfectly well for me.

Boards can be used to make a 2nd level luggage holder as well and still fit under the cover. I also use two 2x4s stacked at the rear and a net for day to day small stuff. I use a $300 Access TonnoSport soft rollup cover.

I got a trifold soft cover from Rough Country for $239 and been very happy with it.
Nice. does that softcover hold up to hail? That's my only concern with a soft cover.

Yep, that's a great idea. I will do that.

These guys are on it with the cheap tonneau if you're not hauling valuables. I'm of the "just enough" or "the whole thing" mindset here. Either spend $300-$500 on a tonneau or $3000 on the bed cap. There are a ton of nice in-between options, none of which I like more than those first 2. I was pricing out really nice tonneau and bed rack systems at almost $2400. Even scrapped together they are 1200. Then I still need to assemble the damn thing and integrate the components. Nah. Plenty of Maverick projects besides that.

I have a undercover trifold armor tonneau cover ( $900) . like it for security and usability . drop in Bedliner to protect bed surface ( haul all kinds of stuff ) used ford ranger protector ($25)cut to fit maverick . does its job . 2x4 across last section to hold cooler in place when grocery shopping .
