Color Tailgate Letters For Atlas Blue? Photos Requested.

Hi guys out there in Maverick land. I'm looking for some photos of tailgate letters, in particular on an Atlas Blue Maverick. I'm still playing the waiting game for my Atlas Blue Maverick to arrive. In the meantime, I'm ordering a few accessories for my little guy once he arrives. One accessory I can't make my mind up on is tailgate letters. I'm leaning towards black, black with red outline, chrome and orange. Any of you Atlas Blue Maverick owners that has added tailgate lettering I would very much be interested in seeing photos of your tailgate. The chrome letters would match the Ford emblem. The black would match the bumper and black trim on the top edge of the bed. I'm thinking though, since the Atlas color is on the dark side, perhaps the black letters may not stand out. Someone suggested orange, which would be great if I had the Tremor that has the orange accent in different locations. I'm not getting the tremor though. Some one suggested the US Flag colors also. For this reason, I'm requesting photos of any color you have added so I can actually see what it looks like to help me in making my decision. I'm looking forward in seeing a variety of colors to help me make a decision. Thanks guys! All you in Maverick Land are awesome people! Just like one big family.

Being a wise guy . . . no not that kind, one who trusts his wife's judgement . . . consulted my all wise and knowing sweet wife for a suggest color for the tailgate lettering. Her advise for the Atlas Blue was Chrome. So I placed my order just before my Maverick arrived at the dealership. So upon getting my Maverick home, I placed the Chrome letters on the tailgate. Most improved look. Once again, my sweetheart is right. It looks great. So anyone with an Atlas Blue Maverick wondering what the chrome letters look like, here are some photos for you to check out.

I have to agree. The chrome/silver really make the blue pop.

I read somewhere that you wipe the indent with alcohol before applying the letters. Did they more or less drop right into the recessed area?

I read somewhere that you wipe the indent with alcohol before applying the letters. Did they more or less drop right into the recessed area?

Comes with two alcohol swabs. I first cleaned the stamped letter indentations with a 50-50 water/alcohol solution (spray bottle) and wiped clean with a microfiber rag. Then I used the provided swabs. Set each letter in the indentation to check out how each letter will set in. DO THIS BEFORE TAKING OFF THE PLASTIC BACKING. When comfortable with the positioning, peel off plastic backing and CAREFULLY set each letting in its corresponding stamped in position. Letters have 3M tape that sticks very well, reason for practicing before peeling off the plastic backing. Once the tape makes contact with the tailgate, it sticks. Take your time on this project otherwise lettering will not match up with tailgate stamping. If letters are slightly warped (bent) and don't sit flat, take a hair dryer and warm up the letter(s) and make flat. I only had one (1) letter that was slightly warped and warming it up worked perfectly. Moderate heat is all that is necessary. Don't get it too hot. Good luck. If you do a YouTube video search on applying tailgate lettering you can see this in action. Has videos on decal, vinyl and plastic raised letters. If you go with Fords letters, be advised they are made of metal. Good luck!

I bought tailgate letters from Jhazeauto. I really love the look and feel once installed. Better than I expected. Simple upgrade with a lot more bang than buck. Easy install if you can pay attention to detail. If you are jittery or impatient, get someone else to do it. I went through great care doing the prep work getting a clean surface and followed with the provided alcohol wipes and primer. The instructions imply you can place the letters lightly then adjust. This WAS NOT my experience. The minute the glue back touched it was set and would have had to pull the backing loose to move them. This is a PLUS for me. I was careful to align the letters as I placed them so they were where I wanted them anyway and I was more concerned about a good, solid, long lasting bond. I do believe I got one.
