Wondering if anyone out there in Maverick Land has installed the 3M Crystalline Windshield Film? This is suppose to be clear and cuts down on glare and UV rays, providing a cooler vehicle by heat reduction. If this is as good as what I have read up on, then having a windshield shade would not be needed. This would not only provide a cooler vehicle in the summer but would also protect the dash. I live in New Mexico, that has LOTS of sun throughout the year. High desert, which has elevated UV rays and many many days with sunlight. Not a lot of cloudy days. If you have this product installed in your Maverick . . . how do you like it?

Interesting, wonder how much it costs? If it protected your windshield like a cell phone screen protector... I'd probably be sold then.

3M dealer in Albuquerque quoted a price of $299. Lifetime warranty with installation guarantee no bubbles or other imperfections or visual distortions. I'm interested if anyone in Maverick Land has this on their vehicles and if they like it? If this in fact cuts down on glare, UV rays and keeps vehicle cool in summer, I'm very much interested in getting this installed. Yes, it is expensive, but if it does what it claims, then to me it would be worth it. I'm especially interested because the Maverick has a plastic dash. If I don't go with this product then I will be looking at sun shades and dash covers. Weather Tech has great sun shades which I would buy and I have seen some nice looking dash covers but haven't found one that I would buy yet. Neither one I will buy if this window film is all that it is cracked up to be. So if anyone out there has this product, I would be interested in hearing your review of this product.

We don't use 3M film but we use something very comparable, and we charge $200 plus tax for a full windshield. Been doing it for years, with no issues. The film is clear, or very close to it. It is unnoticeable on the windshield. But it does reject quite a bit of heat as well as UV rays.

I had the 3M Crystalline film installed on my Lincoln MKZ (pic attached) about 4 years ago. The best investment I could've made in my opinion. It repels heat very well. Even during 110 degree weather, I was able to notice the difference from other tint films I've used on previous vehicles. If I recall correctly, I remember paying around $950.

I plan on using the same film when I get the Maverick. I travel a lot to Vegas and Arizona every year and the sun is brutal out there. I highly recommend it. Just keep in mind, only reputable tint shops carry the film -- and also, make sure the film is not generic/fake. You could see the "3M" hologram/logo on the film at certain angles with the right amount of light. You can't see it if you're not looking for it. I thought that was cool. Anyways, good luck with whatever film you decide to go with.

I have not run the 3M. But I have done my front glass in 70% and now 55%. You will absolutely still need a shade. But it does also absolutely help a ton.

No worries, anytime. Keep in mind, the cost didn't include the front windshield. I had the front windshield tinted at a later date for $300.

If you don't want to spend too much money, I would also recommend the Llumar Ceramic film. It's a little less expensive and the quality is still very good. I had my Mazda B3000 fully tinted with Llumar and no complaints. It repels heat very well.

Is this applied on the inside of the windshield?

We use SunTek CIR70. That is the manufacturer for the films we do. Crystalline is a very very good film, don't get me wrong. But it is hella expensive and unless you become a dealer with 3M they won't sell it to you. It is also really thin, or it used to be anyway. Haven't messed with any Crystalline films in years, but they used to be thin.
