Been driving the Maverick a lot lately delivering griceries for Wal Mart which requires a lot of getting in and out. I find I get the Door ajar message a lot. Not really digging the door handles. Not sure why they cut them off. Awkward to grab and the leverage to close seems off.

I haven't had an issues however when I went to basketball game last week I double checked that I locked my truck on the app and it said locked but 1 door is ajar, went back to the truck and it was my buddy in the passenger seat. So he can sympathize with you but me personally I haven't had any issues closing it. It does have a nice satisfying thump when you close it nicely too.

They cut them off to allocate space for larger (taller) bottles in the space behind the handle. It's been covered in great detail. Not many other vehicles have considered space for larger bottles, so this is actually a welcome idea for some people.

Yeah I agree I basically keep a RTIC bottle in the door incase I'm a little parched and then just fill it up next time after I empty it.

How would a longer handle solve Dave's issues? Does he need more leverage, a bigger target area to grab?

Not gonna lie... when I first started reading this threat I assumed he was talking about the exterior door handles. I guess we'll need to start a separate thread to discuss the issues those are causing.

Easy fix- Drill a hole into the interior door grab handle, loop a rope thru, tie on knot on the spot closest to the door and cut to about a foot in length- Boom ! Problem solved-
