Honestly my Hybrid's been doing fine on the roads here in Eau Claire fine with the stock Continentals. Or maybe I'm just used to how poorly my old Nissan Versa handles the winter.Snow here as well!

Once I dusted it off the Bridgestone weather peaks did great on my hybrid. No issues on the roadways.

I'm lazy too, I just put some good all weather tires (better performance below freezing than all season) and it's great in snow, even up steep icy hills.
Of course, anyone can do it. I did for years too, cause I didn't make enough money to buy better or another set of tires. Never on bald tire though, cause I'm not crazy.Would it be better if I did winter tires? Probably. But I also learned to drive in a rear wheel drive '86 Grand Marquis with bald all seasons and not even the dream of traction control. Everything else has seemed like easy mode since.
