New Maverick needs a buff out 😱

Driver was not in the truck when the big truck slammed into it.

Crazy for sure. Taken from Reddit. We for sure need a RIP section.

His story:

After the initial impact I called 911 and they told me to stay in the vehicle. I could feel other cars and trucks barely missing me as I sat there and occasionally could see them swerve last second.​

The airbag had already deployed and when I took my seatbelt off I couldn't get it back on. At that point I just kept feeling like I was playing with fire inside the truck. The dust clouds were coming in waves and as soon as I could tell it was safe I got out and went to the side of the road. I was probably sitting in the truck for 3 or 4 minutes by that point.​

Maybe a minute or 2 from exiting the truck to the semi hitting it when another dust wave came in. I was about 10 feet from the truck and couldn't see it only hear it get hit.​

Now that we know the owner of the truck is ok, can we get a photo of all 4 of the rims to see if there are any scratches on them...and possibly a purchase price. I would like a set of them for my XL.

Owner rear ended the truck which I believe is when the airbags went off, I'm assuming they exited the vehicle after that and then his vehicle was rear ended by other vehicles in the ensuing multi vehicle pileup.

Oh well, just waiting for a reply that states you can take parts off some 1992 something and rebuild it LOL. Looks like one less Maverick will be on the road. What a shame.

What I'm wondering is why didn't the pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking work on the initial impact? I thought that was standard on all trims
