I'm having intermittent headlight issues. Dealer says that SSM 50869 applies to Mav owners, which is a service message that I found online that applies to similar problems with Mach-E vehicles that sometimes give the same ODB code.
Problems:
Additional info:
Some of these intermittent issues can be intermittently fixed by turning off the headlights with the rotary dial and then back on. It is not permanent.
If you experience this issue or have additional info, please post. It does not seem widespread. My dealer has not been terribly helpful.
Update:
Updated to include confirmation that it impacts 2021-2022 Ford F-150s.
Update 2:
Ford finally acknowledged that 2022 Mavericks are impacts. Thank you 93nighthawk for posting SSM 51299. Now we can get them fixed.
Update 3:
The dealer confirmed, ordered the new switch, and replaced it under warranty.
Problems:
- Headlights sometimes stay on for several minutes even after shutting everything off
- Mach-E owners have a common complaint that headlights will even come while the vehicle is shut off though I haven't confirmed this one myself
- Update: This now also impacts 2021-2022 Ford F-150 (SSM 51058)

- SSM 50869: 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E - Headlamps Turn On By Themselves When Vehicle Is Off
- DTC B1533 Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle is OFF and have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1533 stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp switch. Switch and/or module replacement will not resolve this condition. Headlamp operation is not affected while the vehicle is ON. A new headlamp switch is currently under development to correct this condition. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment in November 2022, when parts are expected to become available. Follow up with the customer to confirm the appointment once OASIS is updated with the repair information.
