So I have looked at few threads, I have gathered that I can update all the speakers. I choose to with all kicker KS 6‘ 3/4 and 4’ series speakers, a key 200.4 and a hideaway 10’ inch.
so my question is to you guys that have done this upgrade, if I get a harness made by plugnplay I don’t need to run speaker wires?
I see morel and jbl installs is there any preference?
anyone else use those kickers?

any help is greatly appreciated !!

i love my 10” kicker hideaway! Thumps! I did it ghetto style.

I know some others that did a full upgrade like you were having battery problems.

plugnplay harness doesn't need speaker wires. Besides if you tap into the back speakers like most people are doing the back speakers are crossed over for high frequencies from the head unit

Does it look like another one would fit on the other side behind the rear seat?

Looking to do a pair of 8's or 10's if my truck ever arrives.

I don’t think it will. This was really the only place. Unless you love or cut some shit. My inverter is there.

I have a basic XL ordered, no inverter, so I am hoping, I have seen where the B&O "subwoofer" is on the passenger side, and I have seen people put an all-in-one sub on the driver's side, that is why I asked.

Great looking truck !!!

I'd get a real subwoofer box. There is a guy on one of the maverick facebook groups that makes boxes. His name is Chris Hilbert. He also has boxes with round holes as well.

That is really nice and the price is actually reasonable considering what ABS prefab enclosures go for.

I opted for the $20 quick and dirty diy option - a little 1/2" MDF, some automotive carpet and an old unused speaker terminal.

What inverter did you install. Did you wire any outlets to it?

The inverter module is beneath the center console. The box on the driver's side rear wall, I believe, is for the trailer controller associated with the hitch (4k tow or otherwise).

Even without that box there the driver's side has fairly narrow space to work with although the center cover panel is mostly just for the center seatbelt. Some have removed that cover for extra usable space to install their audio rack.

Is that a 10" sub? What's the cubic footage? Care to share the measurements?

MDF and screws must have went down in price. I've built a few boxes in my day and at $325 shipped my time (the boxes I've built have taken a long time) and expectation level are both met. Your "quick and dirty" box does the job though!

Yup, 10" sub. It's definitely tight at around ~0.46 ft3. I wanted to maximize space and this particular driver is suited to small enclosures, although it really shouldn't go under 0.5 ft3, so I added a bit of polyfill that I had laying around. The Qtc isn't horrible at around 0.9, but it's still better than anything that would fit behind the seat. I might add a DSP at some point to smooth the small bump at ~50Hz created from the small enclosure, but it's not that bad.

It's a wedge/trapezoidal-hybrid enclosure, so the dimensions are kind of all over the place, but the baffle is 16x10.5 to give you an idea.
