Folks, I just dropped the latest video in my ongoing vlog about my Maverick build/mods. If you've ever considered getting a ceramic coating for your truck, or maybe just wondered what it's all about, I hope this video will be entertaining, educational and also give you some nice looks of the kind of amazing shine and luster you can expect if you decide to get in on the coating action!

Thanks for posting this, looking forward to getting mine in the coming months! Just out of curiosity, how much did this cost? Only asking so I know how much to save up for!

The price for ceramic coatings seems to vary widely by product and geography. Prices in large urban areas seem a lot higher than in my rural area. Also, keep in mind that you'll pay higher prices for longer-lasting coatings.

With that said, the "list price" of the 5-year coating I got (the best this particular installer offers) is $900, and the ceramic coating for the wheels (a 1-year product) is $150. The guy in the video is a friend of mine, so he did give me a nice "package discount" on the two services combined, but it still wasn't cheap!

Oh, I will also add that you will see other coatings out there advertised as 7-year or 9-year coatings. Pretty much any detailer worth his or her salt will tell you that may be a stretch, and if you live in area with serious weather (rain, snow, etc.) and don't park your vehicle in a garage when not in use, those numbers may be "over promising" as my detailer says.

Take it for what it's worth...

Yeah there's a detailer here in Orlando offering a lifetime coating for $1400. Don't think it would last 5 here.

Thanks for the insight, I’ll definitely be shopping around out here in my part of PA, if I were out your way I’d likely just go to the same place where you got yours done and be done with it

I think he did a great job of covering all the bases when coating a vehicle. It being a newer vehicle, there is likely no or little need to mechanically remove fallout. I just coated my wheels and since they were off, I coated the barrels as well. Seeing 3 sets of Ford wheels really shows you that Ford quality is lacking as the back side of the wheel isn't exactly fully covered.

You can spray a topper or sacrificial layer on top of the coating and wheels. That will help keep the coating longer, as will regular hand washes.

Congrats, AAG is right as you see the stages and after the second coat, it popped!!

I'm in Eastern PA, about halfway between Allentown and Scranton.
