My hybrid spent 10 days at the dealer with supposedly “No symptoms” had it back one day and it’s still shaking away. Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure. There’s a lot of hybrids doing this so ford (if they choose to address this) will have their hands full. I finally asked my dealer to see if ford would just buy this back from me but I’m assuming they won’t.

That’s definitely not right. How many times have you taken it in for that? You may want to check your states lemon laws just in case .

Also was it doing that when you were at the dealership? I would take it back and leave it running until someone comes over to check it out.

They had it 10 days and said it never did it.

Wow that’s odd. I really don’t know what to tell you. Then again my brother is a service manager at a Chevy dealership and deals with this kind of stuff all the time. Does it do this all the time?

You might want to go to another dealership if it’s possible.

Damn that definitely doesn't sound right. Hard to believe the dealer had it for ten days and they didn't notice. Sounds to me like they are just jerking you around and don't really care.

Just out of curiosity was this the same dealer you purchased the vehicle from?

Yes, they have been working with the ford tech line and I allowed the tech to take it to and from work for the week.

Alright since this is the dealer you purchased from and you allowed them to have it for ten days and you allowed the tech to drive it home from work and back the way I see it you have two options.

Find another dealer local to you that is willing to take your concerns seriously and work on the vehicle to try and correct the problem. This is probably the easier option.

The second option is to pursue a buy back from Ford. This will be very dependent on your states Lemon Laws but not as difficult as you might think. For example hiring a lawyer is not required to do this but you will be required to provide proof to Ford that you meet or exceed your rights outlined in your states law.

What ever way you decide to go I wish you the best of luck.:)(y)

My state says 4 visits (I’m at 3) and under 15k miles (I’m at 17k). I have mentioned the buy back and waiting to hear from them. I do not expect them to do this. This is becoming a wide spread issue with hybrids mostly in colder climates, I don’t think ford will voluntarily start a precedent to buy them back. I might try another dealer but my dealer has been very thorough and is working directly with ford, I don’t think I would get any better results. At this point I’m holding out for the 2024 Tacoma and using this as a trade in, if it lasts that long.

That's terrible. Is there really alot of this happening with hybrids? Wish you best of luck getting it resolved.

Yeah if you search here and Facebook groups it’s coming up quite a bit.

There’s a TSB on that, they’re supposed to preform a software update to the PCM.

it’s only affected by cold weather the ICE misfires (can cause check engine light) and runs rough.
