Soooo....I have a new 23. My window sticker doesn't have a hotspot delete and it even talks about the hotspot... I am able to connect up to 10 devices etc.

If I log into my Ford account (from my computer) and go to my vehicle dashboard, I see "ADD MOBILE WI-FI HOTSPOT CAPABILITIES" and "ACTIVATE NOW." If I click on Activate Now it gives me instructions that say:
  • In the FordPass App, select the picture of the vehicle, or the vehicle icon in the navigation, to access the vehicle menu.
  • Scroll down until you find the Vehicle Hotspot icon

If I go to the FordPass App on my phone, there is nothing in there about a Hotspot. I've tried logging out and back into the app.

I don't have a WIfi & Hotspot menu in the truck-- mine just says Wifi. Entering that menu, nothing shows up about a hotspot.

FordPass Connect has been activated.

Am I missing something here or should I swing by my dealer tomorrow? Thanks.

Hotspot was removed later in the MY22 production to save chips along with a few other things. Have no idea if MY23 has it or not, sorta doubt it.

The 23 is supposed to have it-- it's advertised on my sticker.

So in the my2022 once they stopped the hotspot I believe it showed -$20 deductions on the window sticker, and as far as I heard completely stopped for the 2023my? I haven’t seen anything listed on the new 2023 Maverick’s (xlt/xlt/or lariat’s) window stickers that I have seen so far?

Yep, if it doesn't have the hotspot, the options list in the middle of the window sticker will show the hotspot delete line and a $20 credit.

So what you're missing is the 4GWi-Fi Hotspot telematics modem. As far as I can tell the 2023 models no longer have it along with the late 2022 models as mentioned previously. I found an old window sticker from a 2022 model that included it, highlighted in pink below. The information on the right is more like a general advertisement (and an oversight) since it's no longer included.

This is confusing. Looks like this vehicle should have the hotspot or as someone mentioned, it's more of an advertisement .

I was the one who also mentioned the advertisement, but that's alright!
I found another window sticker (The first was my 2023 mav that just finished production, second was an early model 2022) that has the hotspot removal, but note the Functional section doesn't have a 4GWi-Fi Hotspot telematics modem and has Fordpass Connect like my '23 but the '23 window sticker no longer has the removal credit.

There is still a Telematics Control Unit present, complete with AT&T LTE modem for FordPass Connect. It's the hotspot feature that's missing from the TCU. It's a modified TCU.

FordPass Connect remote features (including remote start/lock/unlock, location tracking, tire pressure, and oil life) are still present.

You just can't go into Wi-Fi settings on your phone and connect to the vehicle to get online.

Believe me, I appreciate your detective-like analysis of the sticker! Didn't mean to steal your idea. Also, pinpointing the lack of a modem which would provide the hot spot is good work. Excellent post. Good information.

You're right, I only grabbed the last portion of the feature's line item instead of the entirety of the removed portion. I've edited it now, thank you.

I am assuming it doesn’t show a credit cause it was never on there to begin with. The 22’s that show a credit are cause it was suppose to be on there. 23’s were never suppose to be on there

2023 Maverick is still intended to have the hotspot feature, still with a Required Option for the feature delete until it becomes available.
