At the end of the day, it’s just a car. The longer it takes for you to get your Maverick, the more options that open up while the Maverick remains stagnant. Especially if you care about technology, which I’m guessing you do with the Lux package.

If you need a truck, the Tacoma & Ranger are expecting a refresh in 2024. Odds are Toyota announces a Maverick competitor at some point in the next year or two as well. If you don’t need a truck, the rest of the market is improving their offering constantly. Even just the 22->23 RAV4 improved with their adaptive cruise as a standard feature.

Once I recognized all the good options out there, it got much more manageable. If it’s not here by the tail end of 2023, I’m absolutely cancelling to get an Equinox EV.

not sure why that would be maybe they didn’t have it on hand.

he mentions his allocation count almost every single week on stream
Oh no the email said ‘we don’t give out those numbers”

Is it just me, or are these September new order people ten times more weepy than the original 2022 order people?
To be fair, most September orders have been waiting longer than September for a Maverick. There are people who have wanted a Maverick for a year now, just they couldn’t even get an order in until September because Ford.

The difference between someone with an October 21 order and someone with a September 22 order may only be ~3 months of wait, but one has a $2750 discount and likely an end in sight. The other has been waiting 9 months just to get on the list, and isn’t going to get the same protection when their order is rolled over into 2024.

We are not disclosing our allocation number at this time. what is your order number? theres alot of factors to look at but if you have ecoboost XLT you have a great chance

This was from the email I received.
I told them if I could not get a hybrid, I would start looking for a new used Sienna.

For me, the Maverick hybrid is the only truck that fits what I want. I’ve compromised on previous purchases to get something cheaper or faster and I’ve regretted it. I still have a daily driver car and my beastly F-250 so I don’t need it immediately. I can wait, it’s the first time I’ve placed an order for exactly what I want. I understood the delay/duration of my choice and jumped into that abyss with a swan dive.

can confirm. Started calling dealerships around March/April trying to find an order refusal. I only ordered with the dealership 3hrs away because they called me back in July asking if I was still interested because they’d heard banks were opening for 23s “soon”. I must have called 20+ dealerships looking for the refusal but they actually wanted my business.

One thing you rarely hear about is that regional allocations is also a big factor in determining how many allocations a dealer gets. How the regional allocation work is even more of a mystery to me than dealer allocations.

I am also in Atlanta and I have only seen two Mavericks "in the wild" so I suspect that the regional allocations for Atlanta may be very low and as far as I can tell other dealers are not getting many of them either. It sounds like Maverick sightings in places like Texas and California are much higher possibly because it is easier to ship Mavericks there from Mexico.
I don't know the logistics of shipping Mavericks, but there's a dime a dozen Mavericks out here in the greater Los Angeles area. I guess that is why they call LA the mecca for cars. Anyways, I'm patiently waiting for mine to arrive. Like someone mentioned, just don't think about it.

That’s a really good question.

What do we know about regional allocations? Any insiders have a view on how that works? I assume it is driven by some larger scale marketing goals, like more convertibles to California than northeast in winter, or more truck allocations to rural than urban areas…

I have no hope of getting a Maverick. I ordered a Lariat with Lux, but removed the bedliner and bed cover. I picked the dealer as they are huge in Atlanta and don't add $$$$. But it looks like they only do big $$ Fords. Found out a couple weeks ago they haven't sold many of them. So, I expect they are not getting any allocations. Which means I'm screwed. The dealer is Jim Ellis Ford. I am calling them out as I wasn't told any of this when I contacted them 3 months before Sept 15th.

Sad that people are subjected to this kind of stuff. Not fully blaming the dealer. Ford owns most of this.
I’m on day 384 of waiting for my EcoBoost.

WE are weepier. We had an idea that it would take a while to get a Maverick but we also had hopes that Ford had figured out what they did wrong in MY22.

Unfortunately, the way they fixed the MY22 fiasco was by impacting us in 23! Didn't see that coming. Then the hurry up and build some new trucks while the priority for MY22 years was still being decided. That gave some new orders the light of day and all us new order people were like YES! We are gonna get ours like right now.

Opps, Mother May I was not said and you go back to the home line bad boy. Crap, didn't see that coming either.

So it just continues to build one bad brick on a poorly poured and formed foundation. Whaa, Someone stop this merry go round I think the cotton candy and corn dogs are about to get ejected onto the girraffe and the unicorn.

Sit and Wait??? NO way! That is like so unlike the hurry up world we live in. Didn't see that coming either.

OH WHAAAAA.

I truly believe that the Ford ordering system does have a logical method to it. Just one that it is too complex for humans to understand.

There are no unicorns in the Artic. It is much too cold.

However, my personal unicorn (2023 hybrid, lariat, lux cp360, cp360+ built 12/03/22) is on a train between Hermosillo and Portland. :)

Nice to know some unicorns are coming to the PNW.

How do you know they don't like the cold? All that glitter and magic might just keep them warm you think?

My granddaughter told me unicorns like it sunny and warm. She is very up on the things so I'm sure she has it correct. She told me the magic comes from the sunlight. Guess that's why there aren't too many in the PNW................

I'm going to put grow lights in the garage to keep mine happy. :)
