My dealer says they contacted the Inventory specialist for help with my private offer, but I’m not 100% sure.
How can I find out what district manager (I think that’s the correct term?) my dealer falls under and who is the inventory specialist?

I'm curious if you will find out. I went to another dealer to see if they would give me the name and number of the district manager. I ended up having a long discussion with the Sales Manager. I may have only made that clear to the first salesman I talked to. The Sales Manager did not offer me that kind of information.

I will say the Sales Manager tried to lessen my concerns that I was going to get reamed by my dealer and Ford. He thought that eventually I would get my Private Offer, but it might be after I had purchased the vehicle. I think they are protecting the District Manager information. Please let us know if you get that information and also if you get your Private Offer situation remedied.

I am just not that optimistic about getting any money back from Ford after the sale. Given how they treat the end customer (mushroom?) before the sale, they have even less incentive after the truck is delivered. I expect the only way to get a refund after delivery is via a class action lawsuit (and that would likely take years). In the end, the dealer points the finger at Ford and Ford points the finger back at the dealer (and I think both are pointing the middle finger at all of us that have been waiting over a year and still don't have a VIN).

Agree with the middle fingers……all directed at us. I’ve had two VINs in 14+ months and still have no Mav.

Your dealer puts your name and zip code, phone number or email address into a certificate inquiry screen. At this point it’s up to Ford. If a certificate populates it will show the certificate number and amount.
it’s a pretty simple procedure. If nothing populates the dealer has no control at that point, it’s up to you to call Ford and try and find out why.
This is where it gets good… a third party hired by Ford Motor Company (customer service 😂) is “designed” to make you “give up”. First they will tell you to contact your dealer who has no control over certificates that Ford offers the customer.

good luck…persistence pays off if your blood pressure can handle it

Unfortunately, that is not quite how the process works. Originally, the dealer was supposed to put your name zip code, phone, e-mail address, and real address into the system (via COPV or ROPV). If they fat fingered anything, you are basically in a black hole and Ford won't help you at all. Theoretically, when the dealer did the ROPV they were supposed to get an acceptance code. This may or may not have happened. Even if it did happen, getting the acceptance code from the dealer will be like pulling teeth.

The "system" is supposed to be that the dealer then sends the acceptance code along with all your information to the regional allocation specialist. Unfortunately, it seems most dealers don't even know who that is (since all the folks that were in a similar role were fired back in August). And even if they do know, it is too much trouble for them to actually go through the process. They would rather you give up and then they just sell with an ADM off the lot.

What may have happened in a lot of cases is the dealer thought they had a valid COPV/ROPV but did not (they may have submitted the order but never checked to see if it was accepted). When you ask them to resubmit for the Private Offer, they realize the mistake. At that point they can either admit their mistake (NEVER going to happen) or just blame Ford. Either way, you are screwed and at no point in the process could you do anything about it.

What SHOULD happen is @Ford Motor Company takes our information (dealer name, order number, etc.), validates that we actually had an order (regardless of whether it was correctly COPV/ROPV'd or not), contacts the marketing department, and FORD does the right thing and gives us our Private Offer like they should have done back in September. However, we all know that what Ford should do and what they actually do are at opposite ends of the spectrum :-/

Okay, new news. My Maverick was to be built 12/22, last Thursday. I couldn't help myself so today I called Ford Marketing again just to see if the person could see if the vehicle was built. (I was aware that this date was right on the cusp of the plant shutting down for a Christmas break, at least that was my thinking.)

So the gal went to check her resources. She comes back and asks me if I had a Private Offer, I told her both times I called in prior to today I was told there was no Private Offer associated with my order. So she asks me do I know a Brian at my home address. I said, yes, I have a son named Brian but he doesn't any longer live here since graduating college, BUT I said, it occurs to me that Brian owns a Ford Mustang. So she says Brian has a Private Offer and stupid me I was so elated about what I think was a goofy mistake by Ford, I failed to have her wrestle this question to the ground, was this Private Offer really mine. She did seem to think it probably was.

I said to her, my gosh, have you ever had something like this happen before? What are the odds, and she said, well yes, I've had it happen before. She said, sometimes the offer is attached to the person's Dad, I'm assuming they lived at the same address.

She indicated she didn't know exactly how any dealership would work through a situation like this. She said it would depend on the dealership.

So, just when you think you know everything that could go wrong, you learn one more thing. I must say I am excited about this prospect, surely someone can straighten this out. If I learn anymore about this I'll try to respond back to this thread. Thanks for everyone's help.

Never mind. I decided to call Ford Marketing back and ask someone to make sure the Private Offer the other person saw was for a Ford Maverick. Good thing I called, because this person said the "private offer" was not for a Maverick and she couldn't give me any information about that offer because of privacy concerns. I suspect she was correct and the mix up was just one more Ford goof up which we are all too well acquainted with. So, back to being patient and watching my blood pressure.
