I had placed my order on 9/17 with my local Ford dealership and the process was super smooth. Because I was in a hurry to just my order in I placed a basic order. A week or so later I emailed the dealership back and requested some changes be made. I didn't hear back, so I emailed again. Again... nothing.

I called the dealership and they said they would get me in contact with the initial online sales manager who took and placed my order. Still, nothing. Unfortunately life got busier and I totally forgot. And then WOOHOO! I got my "congrats your order has been scheduled for the week of January 30th." I was both excited and nervous, because I should have been more pushy with the dealership to get the car I truly wanted.

Shortly after that I contact the dealership again to see if changes were still possible... but they went ahead and made the changes based off my now months old emails instead of talking to me first. My initial order was Lariat EB, 360, Lux Package. They added on my (earlier requested) FX4, 4K Towing packages.

So I guess my question is this: My "Ford Vehicle Tracking Status" went from scheduled back to "Order Confirmed". How screwed am I for still being scheduled for the week of 1/30?

At any rate I love this community and y'all have been great and I love all of the information spread across these forums. Thanks all!

You have simply moved out of the schedule for the 30th. They will have to reschedule when the planets realign with all the extras you had them add.

The factory has to schedule and sequence all parts for a given build in advance.

Exactly. Part of the reason why's scheduling is such a mess is because of the just-in-time supply chain. They need to precisely coordinate how many of each part they will receive any given day against what they plan to build. And really, throughout the day. The plant keeps very little inventory to keep costs down.

All of this needs to get coordinated in advance with many, many suppliers. That's where the chip shortage largely came from. Car companies stopped ordering when plants were closed. Chip makers sold the capacity to others. Then the car companies reopened factories and realized the chip production capacity was long gone with lengthy delays.

FX4 and 4k tow is a pretty major change involving many different parts that they need to either swap out or add entirely to build your truck. Thus, it'll need to get scheduled again.

On the bright side they are below capacity in the Tremor orders and I’m sure want to get as many out on the road as they can. That’s bodes well for yours. 😊. Got to live in Hope or you’ll die in Despair.

Probably got moved, but also may not be an issue. My tracking page just says order confirmed despite being scheduled for week of 1/9. You'll get built sooner before later and how you want.
