Order isn't scheduled but cant be changed?

Hey, first post as I just placed my order this past Wednesday (1/26) for a 2022 Maverick XLT EB, AWD, 4K, and FX-4. I did some further thinking about my selected options and called my dealer yesterday to ask about adding Co-Pilot 360. I'll have one teenager driving the vehicle when I get it next year and another teenager driving it in a couple more years. However, when I called my dealer, my sales rep told me that he couldn't add the option as my order was locked.

I've seen other members here get their orders changed before the build is actually scheduled. However, has anyone else run into a locked build since Ford stopped taking orders this past Thursday, 1/27? Also, is there anything else I can do to add the option to my build, which likely won't even be scheduled for several months yet?

they said dealer should call there Ford rep
i figue I am better off waiting till things come doen

Good to hear that this issue isn't specific to my dealer or sales rep. I'll have to look at either calling Ford marketing or pushing back on my sales rep to reach out to his Ford rep. My sales rep is apparently the person who places all of the custom orders at my local dealer, and he's been there for more than a decade. I would expect that he should know the ins and outs of the system, but maybe that's not a fair assumption.

If Ford scheduling has changed the priority to "2", the order cannot be amended. It might be possible for the dealer to change the priority back to 10-19 and then make the changes and resubmit? If that is possible at this stage, you'll move back in line.

I ordered in June. It was changed to priority 2.....but I had a tonneau cover which basically made it impossible to schedule. The only way I could remove the tonneau cover was to change the priority to 10 (I work at our rural family-run dealership, so I did all the order entry myself). I made the changes, but it took a few months for me to get back to 2 and then a few more months to schedule. Being this late in the game now, this may or may not still be possible for you.

In my case, my order was submitted with a priority of 19. I am not sure if it has been changed yet. Also, since I just ordered this week, I'm already at the back of the line, so no problem there. šŸ˜€ I sent an email to my sales rep to see if there is anything else he can do or if he can contact his Ford rep to get the order unlocked. So, I'll see what happens!

My sales person got back to me, and he clarified that the only reason he could not add Co-Pilot 360 is that it has been balanced out by Ford and there is no availability left at the plant. He said other options can still be added, just not this one. So, I am pleased that he clarified and that is fair, as it seems like this was simply a miscommunication. The rest of the build is what I wanted anyway, so I'll likely leave it as-is.

Look before you leap, Don't cancel till you have exhausted all options including Ford's local sales rep
