Well, after months of deep sleep mode alerts, having to jump start twice, taking it into the dealer twice and then telling me nothing is wrong, I thought it was because I only used my truck for commuting. I thought that perhaps I didn’t give it enough charge time and that was the issue.

Well, I can report after an 8 hour drive without daylight running lights or anything else electrical perhaps pulling from the battery that I received “FordPass(TM) Connect has entered Deep Sleep mode to conserve battery energy.” alert a few minutes after I parked.

If anyone has figured this out or come up with a fix, please let me know.

I love my truck but what in the actual fuck is going on 🤷🏻‍♂️

No idea what to suggest other than searching the forum for "deep sleep". I know there's been a whole lot of post about it in the hybrid. I haven't experienced it in mine. Good luck.

My xlt hybrid received in March has been going into deep sleep alot. Same symptoms as OP. Took into dealer on 11/22/22 with a printout of all the instances it's gone into deep sleep. They couldn't find anything wrong on day one, but found the 12 volt battery was defective on day two. They replaced the battery. Lasted until 11/29 - less than a week. It's been in deep sleep since 12/12. Very frustrating to have to carry a flashlight to get into a new truck.
On the upside, it does start each time, haven't had to jump it. What is weird is, alot of times, I'll turn it on and drive away in electric without the ICE starting for a good amount of time.
Dear Ford, please find a fix.

Same with mine deep sleep all the time. Today it happened 4 times at each place I stopped… Sucks at night since you have no interior lights. Also like you, I can turn it on and drive out of my neighborhood without the ice coming on. It’s not just mavericks. If you do a google search it’s been happening a lot over the years with Fords… It’s most likely all the Wi-Fi and cell connectivity stuff that’s always on even when the vehicle is off. I think this week I’m going to disable it all. Not like I can use those features since it’s always going into deep sleep…

My Hybrid does the same thing. Every ~2 weeks it begins the deep sleep messaging and interior lights are disabled when entering the truck, then a week later I grow tired of the routine and put the charger on it. I literally just put the charger on it 5 minutes ago, voltage was down to 11.8 vdc and the charger showed 41% capacity. I’m sure it will be fully charged in the morning and I’ll get to do this again in ~3 weeks. It has never failed to start (probably because I catch it before it gets too low). I was going to just buy a new battery and replace it but it appears that does not fix the issue..

I turned that Ford Connect thing off inside the vehicle under setting. So far no Deep Sleep message since And it has been 2 weeks.

I just turned my Connectivity off. I’ll report back when mine is fully charged in the morning, then see whether Connectivity makes a difference moving forward

Well this is interesting, my Hybrid’s battery was at 11.8vdc at the pins 1 hour and 25 minutes ago. It generally takes overnight to fully charge with my high quality Schumacher charger. 47 minutes ago I turned off the trucks Connectivity and at that time it was up to 12.0 Vdc. I just went out, fully charged and sitting at 13.25 vdc.

I’ve done this several times from ~11.8v and it generally takes overnight to fully charge.

From 11.8 to 12.0 took 38 minutes
Turn off Connectivity
From 12.0 to 13.25v in 47 minutes (perhaps less, that’s when I walked out into the garage to check)

Interesting...

With turning those settings off it still can go into deep sleep. You just won’t be notified. Did you notice if your interior lights still worked? What I would like is an option for it to only connect to stuff while the vehicle is on.

My purpose of turning off the Connection is a troubleshooting measure to see if the Connectively is putting a constant load on the system and draining the battery. If the truck’s battery continues to be discharged in the future I’ll know that the Connection is not the cause.

Since it’s a Hybrid, look into the Wiring Harness issue if your truck was built prior to 5/13/2022. Ford TSB 22-2340.

When I had mine at the dealer, I told them about the wiring harness issue (Ford apparently doesn't communicate with their dealers). They said the crimp connection was fine. I also asked if it was a PCM problem that needed an update or re-flashed. They said "no".
Ford says it only affects vehicles built before 3/1/22. Mine was built the last week of February (lucky me).

Does anyone have this issue with builds after 3/1 ?

If you're referring to the Deep Sleep issue, my April 2022 build Lariat Hybrid has gotten the message a few times after several days of inactivity. Interior lights off, but always starts. I may just go with a trickle charger since I got used to doing that with the C-Max. Admittedly absurd, but not unique to Ford either.

I visually inspected the cable months ago, no visual issue and the lug appears solidly connected. Also, I get virtually no voltage drop between the battery (through the cable) and the pins under the hood. With a bad cable connection I would expect high resistance and a voltage drop.

It will be interesting on my truck whether turning off Connectivity changes the symptoms.

Would definitely be a voltage drop if the harness was defective.
