My daily drivers were 5 regular cab rangers since 1989. I drove my mustang for fun in the summer. I had a first year neon I bought from a family member and drove a little before I sold it.

I have had some struggles getting used to my mav. It's wider is the most obvious thing.

I got the xlt, fx4. The other night right in front of the courthouse, I ran over a curb on a narrow street turning right. Both wheels in the grass. No traffic, but practicing on a tight turn to stay in my lane.

Anybody else having to learn the way a new type of vehicle drives?

No issues with width for me, only thing bothering me is looking "up" at the drive-thru LOL. Coming from a Tundra and used to looking down

Yeah, the Maverick is surprisingly wider than it feels like it would be... I've had to be very careful with curbs on the right side. And I've noticed that every time I turn the "lane centering" on, it moves me about 6" to the left of where if "feels" centered in the lane to me. Checking the rear-view mirrors, the lane-centering is correct and I am off-center on my own... Sigh.

I came from a 2010 Ranger Ex Cab. The Mav is almost the same physical size. My issue is the front end in much shorter. I find I'm not pulled into parking spaces enough. Love the 40+ MPG versus the 16 I got on the Ranger.

I've driven everything from compact 2 seaters, up to semis so I never really had trouble adjusting to the size differences of vehicles. My Mustang is probably one of the harder ones, because each rear tire/fender is about 3" wider than the front. I adjust quickly when switching vehicles though.

I find myself not pulling in far enough also.

Still adjusting to getting it into the garage but so far no dings or scratches on it yet. On the road, no issues, it is perfect size.

Found the Maverick to be the easiest to learn after the rearview mirror was adjusted WAY up. Just seems natural ( spin dial excluded ) drive. Breaking was the worse locking up with a slight pressure on the brakes.

Even though the Mav is only about ten inches longer than our highlander was I still cant virtually place the hood/sides correctly when parking - etc. Not sure what my issue is but yea you arent the only one.

Mine will be about the same length as my long bed B2000 but the single cab has excellent visibility in all directions and the double cab will not so I will have to get used to that. Luckily I should have all of the safety nanny alerts screaming at me.

Turning radius is my only gripe but yeah, you gotta get use to that short front nose. I find myself parking way too far back most of the time.
Back in, then you can see with the camera.
