Here’s a step-by-step guide to the Carmigo process in case you’re thinking about selling your car:

What You Do:

Go to this page to start building your car’s profile.

  1. You’ll be taken to a web application that will help you take 13 pictures of your car.
  2. Answer a few questions about your car’s condition.
  3. Set your minimum sale price.
What We Do:

  1. Our virtual inspection technology will use the photos and survey results to create a condition report for your vehicle.
  2. Our team will review your inspection report and minimum price before creating your marketplace listing.
  3. We’ll put your listing in front of our network of hundreds of active buyers and collect as many offers as we can in one business day.
  4. We’ll update you as each new offer comes in.
  5. If the highest offer meets or beats your minimum price at the end of one business day, your car automatically sells. If not, we’ll reach out to the buyer with the highest offer to negotiate on your behalf.
  6. When the sale is finalized, we’ll pay the bank (if needed), put the rest of the money in your bank account, transfer the title, and complete any other paperwork.
  7. Once everything is in order, we’ll come pick it up and make sure it gets to the buyer.
That’s it.

You can list your car in 15 minutes and almost all of our listings receive multiple offers within a day.

Because we have so many different buyers with so many different needs, we usually get offers that beat trade-ins and other online buyers, and we always make it easier.

If you want to know more, check out carmigo.io. Or just reach out here.

Sounds interesting. My Mav should be in any day now, and I'll have an RDX to sell.....might give this a shot.

Thanks for this. I will consider this when selling.

When my MY2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid gets a scheduled build date I will then sell my existing MY2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid and share driving the wife's 2009 Honda CR-V Ex until delivery of Maverick.

I did the same last year when I sold my 2015 Honda Fit Ex to Carvana in late October 2021 and picked up my MY2022 Maverick on December 13, 2021.

Currently Maverick selling prices are holding up here in Texas.

Carvana's current offer on 11/14/22 is $6,577 over Invoice price of $24,620 and $5,129 over Out-the-Door price of $26,068.

I gave these guys a shot and quickly gave up - but I like the concept. They tried to make it easy. But trying to use their app to get a VIN photo through a windshield with reflections - I gave up after 5 minutes. and uninstalled the app Also they charge $350 at sales time, just their services connecting you with the buyer. I don't think you pay that charge until you accept an offer. Remember that you lose the trade-in tax advantage AND you pay the $350 fee. So the offer you get from Carmiga needs to be minimum $350 higher than your private party sale or dealer trade. Maybe thousands higher depending on the value of your trade and your state's tax laws.

I might give them another shot. But most likely not. Just my honest take on my Carmiga experience last month.

Thanks for this information.

When it is time for me to sell my 2022 Maverick I will see what the best offers from Carvana, Vroom, CarMax etc are then add around $1350 additional to that number for the minimum I would accept on Carmigo.

If Carmigo gets me near that number then I would clear an additional $1000 even with the $350 charge if not then I will go with the best offer I had before.

Hey, Scott. Thanks for trying Carmigo. Sorry about the glare problem. I'll pass this on to the Dev. team to see what they can do about that.

I will say, if you had to uninstall something from your phone you may have been using a different product. Our app is a web app so there is nothing to download or install. Everything is done through your phone's browser.

And yes, we charge $350 for the marketplace, paperwork processing (titles, loans, etc.), and transportation.

I just submitted my XL Hybrid on Carmigo. I found the "app" quite easy to use and pretty well designed. Had no issue capturing the VIN.
It is live now.

Keep us posted on the process, offers, etc.. as you go along.

How did you go about setting your minimum bid? Was there any attempt (from Carmigo) to try and get you to change it for some reason?

I'll add that the Carmiga folks were absolutely pleasant to work with from start to finish. They leaned forward to be helpful. And yea, it was probably the Carmiga website I was using. I know, because I'm still getting incessant post-survey emails from Carmiga asking me to take the survey, with no way to unsubscribe.

One suggestion for Carmiga. Change your business rules to charge the $350 to the dealership buyers. It's a business expense for them (COGS), and they'll just price it into their bid. You'll get a lot more bites from end consumers that way.

Good question. The folks on this forum are undoubtedly familiar with cars, but many people aren't or just find the whole process of going to dealerships, listing a car, paperwork etc. to be very stressful. During the pandemic, we saw this process become even more difficult for both buyers and sellers. Carmigo offers a way for you to sell your car and have it reach several dealerships at once without much effort on your part. This is for everyone who might not have the time or expertise to do it alone. Speed and ease aside, selling with Carmigo also comes with a competitive marketplace that gives you a better chance of selling your car for what you need. You can adjust the reserve price and if it doesn't meet it, you do not owe anything. In a nutshell, we are simply here to help anyone who wants it! :)
