Maverick Hybrid Plug-In Kit?

Will Ford be offering a Plug-In Kit for the Maverick like the Escape has? This would be great for short commutes; I would use very little gas.

Never heard of a PHEV conversion kit from a manufacturer. That would be a major mechanical and electrical upgrade (and most likely not worth the effort or expense). Not just a bolt on kit.

The truck design would not support battery pack for plug-in. According to one Ford official video I watched. The VW shared platform would for a different model small pickup.

Plugin takes a bunch of new stuff- charging circuit, chips to measure and manage charging, and the battery in the plugins is usually much much bigger than the regular Hybrids.

This was covered extensively earlier this year with spy shots of what looked like a test mule that had been retro fitted as a PHEV. Just search PHEV on the forums and see what pops up.

There was another video where someone talked about the hybrid mav already has enough space underneath for a larger battery.

A PHEV was on the ‘23 wish list for many people including myself.
