So is this the second time Ford's knowingly sent out incorrect emails?

Just got my 8th your production date has changed email, and I know a bunch of you did too. We just had those end of November date emails that were proven inaccurate immediately by checking in with Ford chat. Why send emails scheduled for a date that you know won't happen? And I'm not talking "this is the optimistic target date" won't happen. This is a "here's a build date that can't happen" email. Honestly, I just don't know how much more incompetent Ford can possibly be. I still lean towards believing our cancelled orders never being moved to 23s.

Those emails are automatic. No one is specifically sending you an email...... the system is set up to send emails when production dates change. They obviously didn't go into the system and specifically choose to shut these off for the 6,000-7,000 hybrids 22 Mavericks that will need to be transitioned to 23.

These hybrid Mavericks need to stay in the system so that the transition process can work (Ford is automatically putting in the 23 orders). I assume something will also be done to prioritize them.
This is why Ford told dealers numerous times (in bold) not to cancel the 22 Mavericks in WBDO. They need to be in there for the next steps to work..... Yes, I'm sure it is annoying to get that update, but that order date is just a place-holder so they can make the transition work.

I am not quite sure that I would be more agreeable to receive such a message because it is not "someone" sending me the stupid message. An entire information/data system has been set up; I presume that took quite a bit of expertise. Somewhere there should be someone to tell the system to default sending these notices without any danger of the order involved being lost forever. Order date, if it is a "place-holder" need not be deleted. Two cents worth!

A monkey could adjust the automation so it's not sending out incorrect production dates. I consider it just another example of Ford's complete incompetence TBH.

Yup, the lies started in August with the zillion people who got build dates of September 5 and 12. My now probably won’t happen lie date of December 19 that was sent out is my TENTH build date. Likely won’t even be in Velocity Blue unless they do the right thing and use it for folks who ordered in 2021 and were already given VINs.

Ford is an OLD company and their tech org is just the same.

A modern company could have all this streamlined and updated live on their website. Ford has dragged it's heels on technology for decades, so is wouldn't be surprised if all this stuff runs on COBOL on servers in some dilapidated warehouse. It's either that or they outsourced everything to some lowest bidder.

I'm betting these emails were scheduled to be sent ages ago, and no one has the knowledge or want to update them.

There is not an individual at Ford going, "time to send out the weekly false emails."

Frankly if you weren’t expecting delays, then you didn’t do research on what you were buying. Ford was over 2 years behind on the Bronco, get over yourself and do more research next time so you know what to expect. Ford would love to send you your Maverick, but a lot of things are out of their control with their suppliers. This forum is mainly just people complaining about their orders 🙄

Likely the only way to do that is to cancel the scheduled vehicles. Automated systems generally have little interaction for cherry-picking notifications. And even if it did, that is likely very low on their priority list to just be punted altogether.

The lies started long before August:

  • November 2021: Switch your luxury package or your truck will be delayed (I switched and still was pushed to 2023)
  • March 2022: Orders will be processed in the order they were recieved regardless of allocations
  • August 2022: sent out email saying that they're doing everything they can to get our trucks produced, when in reality if you weren't scheduled by then, you were getting rolled over.
  • Price protection was a lie
  • "Your truck will be scheduled at the next availability"
Ford should be ashamed at how this product rollout went.
