And a second thought.......Lojack?! What are we, Amish?

I ordered an XL with the spray in bed liner and then saw where it was holding up some orders. So, I canceled the factory spray in bed liner, and the next day I received a scheduled build week of 10:25-2021, and it's built with a delivery date range of 11-13 to 11-19-2021. The spray in bed liner has been a hold up for scheduling at the factory so the dealer option is the quickest way. The margins are fairly low on the Maverick so I don't begrudge the dealer from making a few extra bucks on a local supplier. There are a few different mud flap 3rd party options. The dealer did you a favor. So, I haven't bought a new car in a while. I decided to order a Maverick from my closest ford dealer. They forced me to buy a lo-jack and appearance protection packages. I ended up cancelling and going with a different dealer. They did not force me to buy lo-jack and appearance protection, but they did something else I'm a bit suspicious of. They know I want the truck as soon as possible (doesn't everyone?) so the guy who ordered it for me told me the spray-in bedliner and mudflaps ae two items that cause delays to delivery (not sure how he termed it) so he said they'll get the spray-in bedliner and flaps from a local shop, and charged me the exact same prices as if they got it from the factory, despite the lack of badging on the bedliner. It got me thinking - is he really doing me a favor, getting the truck in earlier? Or are they using the delivery delays as an opportunity to make extra money by getting the bedliner done aftermarket maybe from a local dealer that might charge $300 instead of $475, perhaps with an additional kickback for bringing them business? I think we've all had experiences with car salespersons who are not on the up and up, so no matter how honest, blunt, and straightforward the guy seemed to be, I'll always be suspicious. What do you think?
