Truck bed tents are OK for Tacos and Rangers aren't they? Why all the grief about cheap recreation? Maybe Napier et. al. will jump in when more Mavericks are on the road in the next couple of years.

Curious how well one of these would work with the tailgate at half mast and a 4x8 sheet of plywood (cut to fit length, 6' 2"? Or whatever).

In theory would fit a full mattress (2" too wide at the tailgate? I think an air mattress would be ok if you don't overinflate), so I you could maybe squeeze 2 folks instead of one.

Obviously less convenient since you need to keep the tailgate down to run with if (maybe you could get by with "slats", keep them diagonal in the bed). Food for thought.

I have so much gear when I go camping, moving it all out of the bed to place the tent there just doesn't work for me. I'd need a roof top tent but then I have surfboards on top so I just do it the old fashioned way. Glad to see there is a tent out there that fits though as this would be great for many people.

You do realize that people who do bed camping don't buy a truck JUST for camping right? They buy a truck because they need a truck and being able to camp in it is just an added bonus. Suggesting a van instead is just baffling to me. What a non solution...

Find me a van that has all the same features, spec and price as the Maverick Hybrid then we can talk.

I am sooooo grateful for you posting this! I am going to invest in one! My only concern(s)... the multiple strapping that attaches to the Truck and lays up against the painted finish; if and when I get mine, I will find some means of inserting a protective cloth perhaps - to eliminate the effects of a windy day causing those straps to constantly rub against the painted finish. I am guessing that would be horrible after one event.

I like that one, thanks for posting - after a quick "look see"... the side vent windows do not have a cover over to allow these to remain open during a rain...

Most tents are made to throw a "rain fly" over the entire tent when it rains that would block any windows.
