Agreed, why anyone would order a truck then not option a hitch is beyond me. Even if you didn't go all in with the AWD and the tow package for gods sakes add the hitch!!

You can't even really blame it on price because like you mentioned the factory hitch is only a $100 option. For $100 it adds so much more flexibility.

The problem is the hitch may be considered a constraint and delay the delivery of the maverick. Having gone thru a similar process with my Bronco order, I would recommend you order your maverick with the items you absolutely need to have. On the Bronco, the hitch was a HUGE constraint and I removed it to get my bronco delivered earlier. Here is a quote from a bronco6g member:

Removed 2.7, (2.3 has plenty of power), removed factory hitch (huge constraint) kept hardtop but lost the roof rack (going after market)

You would be surprised what will delay your vehicle. When I ordered the maverick, spray in bedliner was a constraint and I pulled it off my order. I will go for an aftermarket bedliner after I pickup the truck.

The most random things can put extreme delays on your vehicle in these strange times we live in.

No, I did not remove the bumper. I did remove the hitch blank, then cut it to size .

The crash bar on Maverick is 2 x 3. A 2 x 4 RV hitch would not work without modification.
