I can't believe you are getting all these M.P.G. figures. I have just about 10,000 miles on mine, I run premium gas only, I've done 2 oil changes so far with Amsoil Signature series oil, I've driven it like an old lady would and the best M.P.G. I've been able to attain is 25.5m.p.g. combined.
Mine is a '22 Lariat 2.0 with an FX4 package, even have a roll up hard tonneau cover which is always closed so no wind drag. I always drive it in normal mode as there is no eco mode.
Any Ideas ????
Isn’t 25 mpg what Ford says you should get for combined mileage?

I wonder if folks should be applying a high quality wax to their Mavericks as soon as they get them?

Regarding the plastics, I wonder if Ford is using a recycled material (inherently softer) for the interior? (I have a Frontier XE.. so budget truck... and the hard plastics scratch somewhat easy as well).. I live in the desert and will probably install a carpeted dashboard protector like I've done on every vehicle that I've owned in the Sonoran Desert.

Finally, can small weep holes be drilled in those fibrous underbody panels to drain off water without affecting aerodynamics?

I guess it's a $22k vehicle when delivered as base XL. (a 4cyl fwd Corolla SE will set you back $24k, so view it as a much more capable alternative to that.)

Keeping it simple as an XLT w/ EB & AWD & 4K & Sliding Window (other stuff could be added after to not hold up the build) and it will get the job done with a bit of a premium look without breaking much more than $28k. (looks like the OPs build is something like this?)

Fully Optioned out as a top of the line Lariat at a near $45k price tag and I could see someone being very disappointed with build quality for the amount of money spent.

I didn't get my order in, so I'm looking at MY2024... we will see if they address any of these shortcomings then.....
I have gotten between 22 and 32 mpg in my Mav since I received it in January. If I am lead footing it in town or on the highway I get 22 mpg. If I am fairly conservative around town, to and from work which is a 20 mile commute each way, I will get between 24 and 28, depending on traffic and problem drivers. Highway trip to Wisconsin I averaged about 28.7 mpg. On my last trip to Salt Lake City, 380 miles, I got 29 on the lap down, and 27 on the lap back. Which is odd because going down I have to climb to 4500 feet from 2500 feet and the opposite on my way back so up getting better mileage? All are calculated from miles vs gals purchased so it isn't the mpg meter on the dash, though that is pretty good reminder to keep my foot out of it when possible. Just put in the RaceChip GTS and it seems to add mpg but not sure how much yet, maybe 1 -3 mpg but we shall see.
I haven't found that the plastics on the interior scratch any more than the interior on my Escape, Focus or Neon (my last three cars) All were new and all had about the same quality of finish in the cabin. As far as the paint, I always wax a new car as soon as practicable possible and if I have a vehicle repainted, I generally will do a finish sanding with 1k grit wet dry, then compound and polish the paint before I put wax on it. The paint on my XLT is thin but not as thin as the paint on my 1984 Dodge Prospector. The clear on that thing was gone in two years and the paint was down to metal after four and that was without harsh treatment.

I have an XLT EcoBoost FWD. I have driven 3,781 miles and my overall average is 32 MPG on regular gas, manually computed. The vehicle computer is always 1-2 miles too optimistic.

I am tickled to death with this truck. It is not insane gas milage, but it sure beats the beejeepers out of my F150. Now my F150 will last much longer, which is great since I can't afford a new F150.

If I reset my MPG on a smooth flat road going down A1A about 45-50 mph, I'll get about 40 MPG every time, at that speed. 24.9 is my average. I do like to push the gas pedal down from time to time. Overall very pleased with the 2.0

One thing I do hate is the auto start on / off when at a stop light. I wish it would default to off.

Regular grade 87 octane
Same here, the cheapest going which has always been 87 octane from any reputable dealer (I never buy any gas from a company I haven't heard of).

I just posting an update on my mileage numbers. A while ago I did a 2 hour trip to the Bruce peninsula and I got 6.7l per 100km (35mpg) with the 2.0l ecoboost. Blown away by it's fuel economy. I posted earlier about terrible towing mileage. I was getting 24l per 100 km with a 2900lbs trailer. However I discovered that if you tow mostly in normal mode, outside of steep hills or starting from a stop, you can get 16l per 100 km (14.7 mpg).

I have put 13000 kms on this truck and love it!

That being said I'm disappointed by a few things. 1.The paint is very thin and low quality. I tried to get tree sap off my hood and I didn't go down far and already saw steel. 2. Do not trust the oil Guage. It's a timer at best. 3. It does not get rid of water well. A lot of water pools on the fibrous panels on the bottom. 4. The disappointing fit and finish. It is ridiculous that in 2022 manufacturers can't get a sunglasses container to work correctly. I have to wedge it open in a two step process. Also the textured plastic scuffs easily.

But the big redeeming qualities win anyway. Great mileage and a great price. We will see if we get what we paid for over the long haul.

I average 33 to 36 MPG and have been in the 40s on the highway. But you're right about towing. I was 22 MPG towing a 5'x 9" landscape trailer with a BMW motorcycle on it (about 1200lbs.).

On the head liner. Where the overhead lights are. Push the compartment in and it pops open.
Seriously...I can't find it... does it matter if you have a sunroof? Maybe that's why it remains an elusive mystery? 🤷‍♂️ Anyone else with a sunroof located the non-functional sunglass holder? It might work for my John Lennon shades...

Another poster here measured the factory clearcoat and saw that it was extremely thin. I had the dealer apply an extra clearcoat. I also plan to do add more clearcoat myself once I figure out what to use and how to do it!
Clear coat is a spray on process that is complicated and expensive to do. Think painting the whole truck, but without color. You sure they added clear coat?

I had it done by my dealer. He told me it was applied by hand not sprayed on. Along with the simonize and interior protectant. I should probably get the exact details of what they did LOL

Ahh ok. Yeah. What they likely did was some version of ceramic coat. Which is good for sure, just not the same as clear coating it.
