Owing my Maverick for 10 months with 17000+ miles , my gas mileage have increased since learning about ECO mode and curbing my bad driving habits due to the higher gas prices. I’m averaging around 30 mpg from 22 mpg and using better gas made a difference. And I also agree with the post on any issues on my Maverick , Paint quality is the number one issues I’m dealing with. It’s a magnet to paint chips and the same to the interior, the plastic scratch so easy to the point where I would recommend to trim your finger nails before using your Maverick. I have no other issues with quality but I just receive a letter from Ford regarding a issue with my side airbags..
In my 2019 Expedition Max I’ve found that I get about a 10% mileage bump whenever I can buy ethanol free gas with a slightly higher octane. Math doesn’t show savings at this given the premium to buy actual regular gas vs the garbage blending has pushed into our market for 20+ years

I ordered the protective film. Hoping for the best. I got a ceramic coloring applied to my wife’s Explorer and it makes a big difference.
Mosquito’s come right off. I’ll probably apply a ceramic coloring myself.

I can't believe you are getting all these M.P.G. figures. I have just about 10,000 miles on mine, I run premium gas only, I've done 2 oil changes so far with Amsoil Signature series oil, I've driven it like an old lady would and the best M.P.G. I've been able to attain is 25.5m.p.g. combined.
Mine is a '22 Lariat 2.0 with an FX4 package, even have a roll up hard tonneau cover which is always closed so no wind drag. I always drive it in normal mode as there is no eco mode.
Any Ideas ????
Stop using premium gas

I just posting an update on my mileage numbers. A while ago I did a 2 hour trip to the Bruce peninsula and I got 6.7l per 100km (35mpg) with the 2.0l ecoboost. Blown away by it's fuel economy. I posted earlier about terrible towing mileage. I was getting 24l per 100 km with a 2900lbs trailer. However I discovered that if you tow mostly in normal mode, outside of steep hills or starting from a stop, you can get 16l per 100 km (14.7 mpg).

I have put 13000 kms on this truck and love it!

That being said I'm disappointed by a few things. 1.The paint is very thin and low quality. I tried to get tree sap off my hood and I didn't go down far and already saw steel. 2. Do not trust the oil Guage. It's a timer at best. 3. It does not get rid of water well. A lot of water pools on the fibrous panels on the bottom. 4. The disappointing fit and finish. It is ridiculous that in 2022 manufacturers can't get a sunglasses container to work correctly. I have to wedge it open in a two step process. Also the textured plastic scuffs easily.

But the big redeeming qualities win anyway. Great mileage and a great price. We will see if we get what we paid for over the long haul.

Well said. I have found my AWD Eco boost to get impressive mpg in highway driving, as you stated above (30 mpg++), but my around-town mileage is far below the stated mileage. I am honestly lucky to get 20 mpg around town (and I am a light-footed driver (mostly ;)).
Everything else you state is precisely my experience esp. the super thin paint and incredibly easy-to-scratch plastics. It doesn't rain much here in Baja, but it has not had rain or water issues.
Same as you; however, I love this little truck, and its benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Cheers

It must be that Canadian gas. We need to finish the pipeline.

I would not under any circumstance tow in any mode other than TOW. The rpms run way too low and imo you risk damaging the transmission. It's not worth saving a few bucks and risking burning up a trans even if it's under warranty🧐

Your commute or routes just aren't as efficient. That's just how it rolls

towing my 2700lb travel trailer (picture in my avatar) I regularly get 11-12l/100km. not sure why you're seeing such poor numbers towing.

I got the idea from a guy on this forum. I'm not worried about it at all. My previous suv had same horsepower and specs and it towed fine without a tow/haul mode

Get a forscan pro to get you an eco mode. Switch out the nobby tires on the fx4 package.
