What's your alternate plan if your Maverick can't be built for 2023?

I think mine will be to get a 2006-2011 Saab 9-3 SportCombi/9-3X for a "fuel efficient" daily (more fuel efficient than my current daily lmao) and a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro Double Cab/Standard Bed with a bunch of options to basically have all the truck functionality I wanted and brand new vehicle reliability

But I do hope Long McArthur does get enough allocations to get every order built but I think it's hard to say if they will but I think we can all hope for the best but expect the worst.

So yeah that's my plan if I can't get built, what's yours?

Put a few bucks into my current 1/2 ton pickup and just live with the mileage. Ordered a Bronco Sport on 9-21 so if that shows up I'll take it for going to town and at least alleviate some miles off of my current rig. It doesn't sound like they are quite as screwed up for getting one as the Maverick......maybe.

As long as your dealer has BS allocations, not nearly as hard to get. Allocations for October we’re just given to the dealers. You should find out how many orders they have that are not scheduled yet (assuming you ordered a non heritage limited edition). Then ask how many allocations they were given. That might give you an idea of when you’ll get scheduled. But in general, you got your order in pretty early, the wait should be nothing like the Maverick.

I did ask the salesman about allocations and all he would say is that they are month to month allocations so it's nothing to be concerned about. Then got the whole speal about how they are the number #1 dealer of super duties in the nation so they basically get what they want etc. etc. I'm pretty sure all dealers make those same claims.

I was looking at the 2023 kia sportage hybrid. If I am honest with myself, i think it is a better value than the maverick. 30k for the AWD hybrid sportage, no wait time. Maverick would be cheaper by 5k but no AWD and I do think the build is sub par to the sportage... gasp, i know.

I'll keep repairing and driving my two 20 year old clunkers until I can get a good deal(MSRP) on a 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SUV.
I don't have to have another truck, for me it's just that the Maverick is excellent transportation at a decent price!
I really wanted the Maverick Hybrid, but switched to an Ecoboost at the last minute to hopefully get a 2023 Maverick quicker! (I ran a new fuel pump ground wire for my 96 Chev K1500 this afternoon! The clock is ticking!)
Baring a constraint apocalypse, I expect all the orders placed so far this year will get delivered.

I am hoping as long as Ford closed the order banks with enough wiggle room to ensure that every order at every dealer can be built within their plans for MY23 Production I think so too, though I think just in case I have some alternate vehicle plans if it doesn't work out for mine to get built but I think it will or at least I hope it will!

Hahaha…true on the month to month allocations but you earn them based on sales of the one you want buy; and in this case the sport. But in reality, you should definitely get the sport much faster than the Maverick. I saw your response on the other thread. Funny on the Alto blue. We were looking at that color for a Maverick. Then once we saw it in person, it was a hard no. Too dark and was not worth the up charge. And now I’m paying almost $1k on Robin’s Egg Blue that I haven’t seen in person. Sure hope someone in my family likes it. 😂

I kinda wondered if they weren't having a whole lot of BS sales due to them still having a new '22 sitting there and four used ones. Of course he explained the '22 still being there because they "accidentally" forgot to put it in their system so nobody knew it was there to purchase even though it was in their showroom and he obviously knew it was in the computer because he looked it up. Of course we had to buy it quick if we wanted it because now it's in the system and it'll go quick. *Dismissive hand wanking gesture*

Ya, I was not really all that impressed with Alto at all. I lean towards dark colors but they need to "pop" in the sunlight and it just didn't. I really wanted a dark green for the Maverick since my Ram is a forest green metallic with a pearl coat. Looks black till the sun hits it then it's got some depth. Settled on Atlas blue for the Maverick. Best of the dark yet bright choices. We were gonna get that in the Bronco as well but they had a full size Bronco in Eruption Green sitting in the sun. Knew instantly that was the one.

I really like the looks and drive of the '23 Sportage, but the lack of serviceable, visible reverse lights made it a NO GO for me.

I'll keep driving my current hybrid crossover. If my rollover Maverick does not get selected for production for another 6 months, I will likely order a new Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport.
Other vehicles I'd considered:
'23 Kia Sportage - ruled out for lack of serviceable, visible reverse lights and honestly it might be slightly too wide for me 🤷
'23 Kia Niro - haven't seen one in person yet, but I'm not a fan of the abundance of oversized black plastic(?) trim pieces
'23 Kia Sorento - don't need 3rd row seating
'23 Bronco Sport - neat vehicle, only 'whelmed me during test drive in comparison to test driving the Maverick. Also thought the rear door entry and exit was tight.
Chrysler Pacifica mini van - had one once as a loaner, fun to drive, but ICE gets poor fuel economy and they only offer a PHEV which won't work for me. Plus they're ridiculously expensive.

@Finnster
I haven't started my Sportage research yet, can you tell me briefly about the reverse lights? Thanks
