Drive-In Movie Test

That's so funny, I was expecting a different writeup but the Mav was used just like a car in the OP's case.

My daughter went several times this summer to the drive in with friends in her old Ranger. They lay our chaise lounge pads and pillows and blankets in the back and use 2 portable Anker speakers with some old Sansa Clip mp3 players with FM tuners built in (the drive in uses FM).

We'll have to see if that still works with the 4.5' bed of the Mav vs her current 6' bed.

With the tailgate down, it should be no problem. Bed is 6' with the gate down.

We'll see! I think they fit 4 girls overall and I don't know the sitting/lying arrangement they used. Could be years away before every getting to try, if our hybrid order is ever built....

We went to the drive in this summer and I just left the truck on. Only started about 6 times during two movies to recharge the batteries and only ran for about two min each time.

Yes. And we had the ac running. My wife doesn't like bugs so we couldn't keep the windows open.

That’s a hybrid only feature. If/when my 2023 hybrid arrives I’ll be able to use that. For now my EcoBoost shuts down every thirty minutes. I just turn the key to off and back to Accessory mode and everything is good again for another 30 minutes

We’ve been doing drive ins with the maverick all summer. Even bought a foldable full size mattress to put in the bed. Super nice and cozy. Been loving it. Only issue is I installed the real truck grille lights and they’re always on if aux is on. So truck goes completely off and I run sound off a boom box.

Who the hell needs a back seat, when you have a 6' long truck bed with the tailgate down LoL. Blowup mattress in the bed, couple pillows, and a blanket. What more info do you need. Let your mind chew on that. My wife and I went to see green lantern at the local drive in movie in my silverado.

I honestly can tell you I dont know what that movie was about. It was a double feature, and I dont remember the second movie either LoL. We are going to try out the truck bed in the "Silver Buffalo" when it gets here, it wont be as roomy as an 8 foot bed though, that's by design. Its smaller so you can get closer right away.

I have a Gator SFX trifold cover, and a bedrug XLT going in it, along with a DIY power port setup on the LH side. I bought white bed LED strip lights, but may end up going for the color change ones. That may add to the flava when we go to the drive in.

I've always have had a separate radio for when I go to Drive-in movies. The only benefactor to having a Maverick at the drive-in, is being able to park where the cars park instead of back where the midsize/fullsize trucks are supposed too.
