Just curious what is the use case is for such a small back slider that is manually opened except on Lariat ? Seems like the brackets to open/close & frame are larger than the actually opening- lol

Air flow management. Sticking your arm through to fruitlessly attempt to pick something up in the bed. Stuff like that.
4 windows and a sunroof- shouldant that be enough air flow ?

Yes, I hate the option. Even the power one is pretty useless. I have one on my Ram 1500 and usually its not even worth the effort to open because just lowering all the windows is easier and in one place and gets the hot air out quickly enough when driving.

Its one of those vestigial features that serves no purpose anymore. Back when single cabs were the norm, you could reach behind you to open it manually, and it would allow you to communicate with anyone riding in the bed and reduce buffeting, but now that quad cabs are dominant you have back windows and nobody is really supposed to be riding in the bed anymore.

On the Santa Cruz, they force you to have a manual rear port that blocks a significant portion of your vision on all but the lowest trims. At least with the Maverick its an option, and when it is forced, its power so its at least mildly functional.

The winner for most useful port is Toyota. They have an entire rear glass that can drop, which can act as a passthrough if you have a hard tonneau cover, and blocks no view.

Hey I'm all for it....drop the windows a but, especially with air deflectors and open that windo and great flow. Also nothing like 4 windows, a rear window and a sunroof all open!

I have the 1st Gen Tundra dbl cab, which I will keep when I buy the maverick and I gotta say that full rolldown window is the $h!t! No reason every manufacture doesn't offer this...

I added the manual option to the Maverick as that is better than nothing to me.

Gotta know how to fold'em,know how to roll'em.
I mean its just another $155 to my already 32k build but looks like it obscures what little vision the rear glass has anyways - trying to see if I would ever use it.

Knowing how I've used the manual slider on my F150,I'm glad I got the power slide .

I wonder how involved it would be to convert it from manual to power. I'm sure it wouldn't exactly be cheap, but down the road. You know, when Maverick Lariats inevitably end up in the scrap yard, may be able to source the parts somewhat reasonably. I'm hesitant to add it to my XLT build for the same reasons, I think if I could convert it to power later on, I'd be more likely to consider adding it.
