Welcome to the party!

It's been a month so far and not a part in sight. Truck is currently in Deep Sleep mode according to Ford Pass and has been so since June 14. I was also told two weeks so...hope your luck is better than mine!
block heater + deep sleep mode? eh

my luck is dealer give some coolant and can drive home now, top up every morning till they have part to replace it.

The day I took my truck in I filled it with coolant, drove 40km, and it was empty. Hopefully your leak is less than that, or they're providing you coolant by the barrel!

lost 1 inch between max min on daily drive. top up every day is better than stay on dealer's parking lot for a month in my case.
no loaner for me... so...
have no other complains, knocking on wood

I hear ya! I'm surprised temporarily bypassing the block heater isn't an option. It's not a vital engine component and it sounds like an easy fix, but I also know nothing about engines so I'm sure there's a reason.

RESOLVED!

I noticed today on the Ford Pass app that my truck had moved to the front of the dealership, and like a creeper, drove by on my way home from work to confirm. Was it fixed, or were they repositioning it as a showpiece for the impending 2023 order bank opening? I receive a call within the hour informing me that not only was my block heater fixed, but they had also done the hybrid engine fire recall and my Mav was ready for pickup!

It felt weird to drive since I've had a rental for the last six weeks and had only driven the Mav for two weeks prior to that, but I'm happy to have it back. I have to give a shout out to Planet Ford in Brampton. They took great care of me and footed the bill for a six week car rental, so I can't complain.

I'm glad this thread helped a few other people identify the block heater issue and I hope they get their Mav's back soon.

Glad to see OP got this issue sorted out.
My fix took long enough time, and came back from dealer.

I believe this is the replaced Engine Block Heater. Can you guys help to check your after-work piece? Looking difference from my installation? Isn't it weird that partial block heater exposed outside? Got to think they installed wrong, or incorrect part?

Why do people scream lemon all the time when they have one problem?

How many people actually followed through with the lemon law?

to me? I just hope somebody, who got this fixed, can help to check their fix, looks same as mine or not, I feel weird from the picture, partial of heater is outside.
this issue mostly is for Canadian version. For the north, block heater is standard.

Whereabouts in the engine bay is this? I'll have a look at mine.

Funny enough, a different part of my NEW block heater failed and I had to take it in AGAIN! They managed to get the part and fix it in a week, which is less than the six weeks it took last time, so that's a plus!

They also gave got me a Mav Ecoboost (I have a hybrid) as a rental. I think I like the drive of the hybrid better.

I had that problem when my hybrid only had 5 miles.. yea a brand new hybrid maverick with a coolant leak from apparently the heater block. Even Fordpass detected the coolant issue.

but i was more lucky than you. It only took them 24 hours to get the part. But it was a 7 hours job.. so i had to leave them the vehicle for 2 days..

After two days, i left with the fixed maverick and noticed the coolant level in the overflow tank was about half an inch above the max line.
its been two weeks since and i just checked last night,, now the coolant is right at the Min level line.. so now I start to worry again.

i can't find the leak.. apparently you need a snake cam to see the leak..Unless i lift it and look under.. but i won't do that for safety reason.

the heater block is very hard to acces, to change that the manidold has to be removed and the catalytic drop down..

is it possible for the coolant in the overflow to just drop from max to min within a week?

im not getting any Fordpass err…. Atleast for now.
Could just be the last bit of air escaping from the system.

Owned my Mav for about a week and a half when the Check Engine light came on. Hadn't even run through my first tank of gas (860km).

FordPass app said the light pertained to the coolant and to check the levels. Lower coolant reservoir was bone dry. Tossed in a 1/3 of a jug of coolant I had in the garage and it didn't even make a dent in the level, just flowed into the hoses. Purchased a new jug and was able to top it up to the MAX line. The Check Engine light also turned off. I drove 40km to work and when I arrived the fluid was below MIN with hardly anything left in the reservoir. I checked again before heading home but found the same thing. Empty. Nothing appeared to be dripping from underneath.

Took it to the dealer and they eventually discovered the problem was a leak in the block heater and it would take two weeks to get the part up from the US, thus no Mav for two weeks. Longer than I have actually owned it at this point. Faulty build? Lemon? Who knows?!

To add insult to injury, they said they would provide me with a rental free of charge, but they couldn't find a vehicle to give me. They were able to secure one for tomorrow and have arranged to Uber me to and from work tomorrow (80km round trip). Not ideal, but to be fair my dealer has been nothing but helpful, so this isn't a slight on them by any means, just a recounting of my experience. I've loved the time I've spent with my Mav so far, I'm just disappointed I can't drive it for the next two weeks.
Is this block heater a stock item or is it an add-on?

Thank you for this. It's near firewall driver side, attached to engine. Probably above the catalytic converter.
After more "self-study", this may be simply the insulation not covered, hence expose that part outside.
Anyway, it's good to know if anybody else has the same situation.

Tricky to snap a pic, but I think mine looks just like yours.
