Second time for the same issue? Are you saying replacement wire harness has the same defect? So, as someone from this topic said, rather solder yourself fix it than waiting on dealers parking for a month replacing with another defect harness.
Should had a recall. My XL got dead today on parking lot, no any sign for this gonna coming. Saw so many others post same situation on this forum.
Yes, before May 13 manufacture day. Likely most would go dead someday. Ford just wait customer call dealer per case base. TSB says enough, Ford knows...
Thank you for this. It's near firewall driver side, attached to engine. Probably above the catalytic converter.
After more "self-study", this may be simply the insulation not covered, hence expose that part outside.
Anyway, it's good to know if anybody else has the same situation.
to me? I just hope somebody, who got this fixed, can help to check their fix, looks same as mine or not, I feel weird from the picture, partial of heater is outside.
this issue mostly is for Canadian version. For the north, block heater is standard.
Glad to see OP got this issue sorted out.
My fix took long enough time, and came back from dealer.
I believe this is the replaced Engine Block Heater. Can you guys help to check your after-work piece? Looking difference from my installation? Isn't it weird that partial block heater exposed...
haha, no supprise at all. yesterday when drop off at dealer, told them block heater story i heard from here. took it apart at dealer yesterday and said could not find where is leaking. around noon today, told me your right, it's block heater... well, there you go.
lost 1 inch between max min on daily drive. top up every day is better than stay on dealer's parking lot for a month in my case.
no loaner for me... so...
have no other complains, knocking on wood
So, after 17 days for schedule and 2 days with dealer, come back with block heater leak and need to wait for part 10 days-2 weeks.
It's more like a common issue now with block heater, mostly Canada Hybrid version.
okay... all I found out is dealer have no time to look at my car, 17 days later that's earliest appointment, coz it's still runnable... keep topping it, that's what i got from dealer till next available day...
Ford, i really wish i can love you...
on 3rd week XL, Check Engine Light on, and coolant disappear well below min. I wondering it's block heater leaking? with many similar cases here, should've been a recall.
:(
On my Mav 3rd week and little over 1000km Canada version XL Hybrid. April build day.
Engine light on, coolant almost empty I can see from reservoir.
So excited after wait more than 8 months, guess it would stay in dealer for some days
