I have the DIBL that was included with the XLT Lux and purchased a TruXedo Pro X15 Tonneau to install myself. @Realtruck

Installation wasn't terrible, but even after adjusting the "self tensioning" part of the cover, it flutters around like mad at 70mph. You can hear the cover slapping the two round bar cross members as well as the front cross member bar of the tonneau cover. Having the tension nearly as high as it goes makes it better, but you can still clearly hear it inside the cab. Extremely annoying.

The troubleshooting guide says this is due normally to a cover that's too loose. I believe there is some weird interference between the front of the DIBL edge trim and where the cover attaches to the side rails along the bulkhead. The tensioning plungers push this cross member against the plastic edge trim of the DIBL. Not sure if this isn't allowing to to reach full tension or not. Anyone else have a similar issue?

The latch seems to be pressing up against the DIBL's edge trim. I can't tell if this is preventing it from becoming fully tensioned. I am also using the elevate rails.

You may have a slack problem length wise but you also have to take out slack right to left.
I have the same Truxedo Pro x15. When you push down to latch at tailgate there should be some restriction, not a lot, definitely not loose. But you also need to pull out cover sideways as you are pushing it down on the Velcro. You will be surprised how much flutter that will take out.

I've pull it taught from the sides as well. When I'm stationary, the cover looks taught and smooth with no wrinkles. I also have moderate resistance when closing the cover - similar to other's I've used.

I've never noted how much they move in the past and now I sit too low to see how other truck's covers are behaving in the wind. Maybe this is normal and the unibody structure just amplifies the rattling.

They move a lot especially over 70mph but I've never heard mine making any noise. Over 10,000 miles and I love the x15.

Do you have a DIBL?
I see you have the SIBL. I'm still wondering if my DIBL has a role to play in this.

I should learn to read. You have no bed liner?

Yes SIBL, drop in may be some of it but if closing cover at tailgate doesn't seem loose I don't see why drop in would matter. Good luck figuring it out.

I ordered some felt strips to see if I can dampen the rattle.

This is the main reason I returned my X15. I was getting flap as low as 45mph.
I tightened the best I could. So tight it stopped latching with the tailgate up.
I did a ton of research a felt it was the best option. I ended up getting the BAK X4S. Decided it’s cons were more livable than X15’s.

Realtruck has a 30 return policy. It was a breeze to return.

And you have the lariat lux (I assume SIBL). So maybe this isn't an issue of the DIBL but just it's compatibility with the Maverick (or just a bad cover design?).

The X15 otherwise has really good reviews.

Correct, I have SIBL.
With the X15, I also had issues getting rails level so the cover would latch with tailgate up. I spent a bunch of time trying align things. Including adding shims behind the metal of the bed cap near the tailgate.
Good thing you don’t have the rear window, X15 is even louder with that open.
When I got the BAK X4S, it needed a little adjusting too; but no shims behind the metal of the bed cap. Posting in another thread, other members gave me pics of theirs. Just about every one fit slightly differently. I was surprised.
I can see the X4S moving while driving, but no sounds come from it; even with rear window open and going 70mph.

Unfortunately, I ordered the cover before I got the truck and I'm outside of the return window.

I learned that the piece of edge trim that the front cross-bar clip interferes with is glued onto the DIBL and can't be removed. The alternative would be modifying the plastic clip with a die grinder to generate clearance (something I'm willing to try).

I did add some felt last night. 1" wide and the full length of the front cross-bar. Fairly thick. The intent is for the felt to keep the cover front touching the crossbar flush and flapping against it. I think this front bar is what generates the most noise. I didn't have a chance to go 70mph this morning on my way to work, but so far at lower speeds, I haven't heard it.

The felt helped substantially. I could still hear the occasional flutter slap, but it wasn't persistent.
I'm debating modify the plastic clips with a die-grinder to ensure they aren't interfering with the tensioning mechanism. There's no going back if I do that - so I want to make sure that's the right next step.

Have you thought a tailgate seal? I haven’t put mine on yet.
While mainly to keep dust out, it would change up the air flow.
