Should you be concerned about off roading in high heat?
That's a big schmaybe. It depends on what you are doing and how you are planning on driving. Pushing the truck with high RPMs can definitely cause some heat problems. But just doing some light trail riding and crawling shouldn't be much of an issue. Especially if you are willing to take it easy for a bit if you start to get a bit hot.

C'mon man! I've Baha'd a stock two and four wheel ford truck all over Texas in 100 degree temps for years and never had a radiator problem; unless you hit something ;)
Hitting something is my big concern. Hence the Tremor being good with the extra height and angles. I don't do serious off roading, it would be ranch roads for a dive hunt, getting to the water for a fishing trip, etc. But if the answer was "hell no steer clear" I'd consider that in the decision.

It's probably going to be fine, but the most capable version of the Mav remains the FX4 with 4K.

I've done thousands of feet of climbing on some pretty nasty grades here in the Cascades over the past two months. No issues on FX4. I've literally never even seen my temp gauge go above half. Yeah, it's hotter in Texas, but you won't be doing anything too crazy (outside of sand and mud). I'd bet you'd hit the upper temp limit on the AWD before the engine....

I’d be a little concerned if my radiator was trying to get pregnant too. Weird thing to be posting about on the forums, but whatever floats your boat

But the Tremor won't have the radiator of the FX4. That's the point of the question....

Assuming Tremor gets the FX4 spec radiator just not the 4K tow radiator/trans cooler - Need to have the Tremor front bumper/valance removed and measured at some point. Anyways off/roading in the summer at elevation will things pretty toasty. At 7500 ft and 82 degrees out, my FX4/4K rad/fan kicked up to another level and hasn't done it since. Surprised the Tremor can't even get a 3K tow rating - Kinda disappointing.

Upgraded radiator in FX4. My understanding is this comparable to the 4k radiator upgrade (could be wrong there). Further understanding is that they could not fit upgraded radiator in new bumper, hence no 4k available.

My original question may have been vague, but that is my logic chain. If FX4 needed an upgraded radiator, but they couldn't fit one in the Tremor, is there a concern for overheating?
i think it will be fine . wont know until testing and actual videos are made for sure.

Then why did they upgrade the radiator on FX4? Same basic market as Tremor. It may well be that it's fine, but the question isn't silly since the precedent is there...
On top of that when off roading many times you will be crawling at low speed meaning not much air flow through radiator. So YES I would be concerned. I bet ford did test on a road at hot temps which gave good airflow going 20 plus MPH but off roading you might go 3 mph. Get a temp gauge.

So I have a new thought on this whole Tremor radiator deal.

Maybe the radiator and fan is physically the same as the FX4/4K but the high clearance bumper is too restrictive on airflow to properly cool it for 4k towing abilities. Fine offroad especially at low speeds but on the highway, up a hill, that radiator needs to be gulping air to keep the heat down. Thats why it has that air dam and gaping wide mouth that the Tremor just doesnt have room for. Especially with more of a skid plate underneath it.

I say if we find out that the radiators and fans are the same. Maybe just opening up the airflow with trimming and hood vents will be enough to keep it cool should you decide to tow something a little overweight.

They aren't. The Tremor uses the BS Badlands radiator which is shorter.

There are ways of keeping the cooling the same or better . If you go with a smaller area you can increase the number of cores . Going from a 2 core to 3 for instance . Even a larger fan or a second fan perhaps . I would think the ford engineers have this figured out .

Is this assumption or specification?
The Tremor has the same radiator and cooling fan as the Bronco Sport Badlands, which is not shared with the 4k Towing Package. The Tremor/Badlands radiator is shorter in order to accommodate the 30° approach angle.
It is mostly just down to cooling. To get the 30° approach angle, the Tremor cannot use the larger heavy duty radiator from 4k Towing pack. The Tremor will still be highly capable of towing 2k lbs, but Ford's standards for 4k truck towing are extremely stringent.
