Got an email re: production date for my cancelled order

After I lucked into my hybrid Lariat in February I cancelled and received a refund for the deposit I made on an EcoBoost. I received this email with a VIN and “accepted and tracked” my future Maverick. I don’t know if the dealer gets copies of what I accept but I thought if I could get this one for someone who has been trying to get one I could do that. I don’t know how far I can take this but it is in my name with original pricing.

I'm sure your info is still in the system. I don't think you "accepting" anything through the tracker makes any difference.

The dealer gave you your deposit back. They are planning on selling this Maverick to someone else.
If you contact them they might be willing to still sell to you?? But they very well may have already found a buyer for it.

No incentive for the dealership to cancel the order in the system if you wanted to cancel. They still want a Maverick to sell. As long as they will stay above the necessary % of retail orders that have to be sold to the person who ordered them, they won't worry about it.

Yep, this is up to the dealer. You could reach out. But to "get it for someone else" you'd need to buy it and resell it to them.

When I double checked the email it said the order was going to Bozard Ford where I did not make a deposit. I thought it was a deposit I made at another dealership and canceled. They have nothing in writing that I canceled the order so I will probably call the salesman and chat with him. Even if I were to buy the vehicle, pay all the fees and then sell it, it would still be less than what the price would be on their lot. It just burns me that these trucks are being marked up so much!

At this point the dealer you ordered from's only incentive to sell it to you is for the name match program. If they aren't close to the conversion percentage threshold they will likely tell you to kick rocks. They are sitting on an extra 10k profit by selling it off the lot.

She’s in FL, I’m sure they will tell her to pound sand. Not many rocks in FL.
