ford would have to give fair warning to everyone before they could do something like that, that's a educated guess, stop kicking yourself in the head over it,
it's really just hearsay honestly,

Like i said not sure if true. But WHY cant they do that? Give me a reason why that cant be done? just saying it doesn't make it correct. Again I don't know if it can or cant be done but you seem to imply you KNOW it cant. So I ask why? It sounds like a good idea to me.
Warranties attach to the item for which they warrant, not the owner. It has recently been challenged and upheld to the benefit of the consumer in areas such as vehicle modifications and farm equipment repairs that manufacturers cannot void warranties for actions that do not effect the warranty.

For Ford to remove the warranty due to a sale of vehicle, it would be removing a guarantee of function on the vehicle due to the actions of the owner which in no way effected how the vehicle functioned. They cannot legally do that. They could agree via contract that there could be monetary consequences for flipping a vehicle but the hassle of enforcing for a low cost, mass produced vehicle makes that highly unlikely. Long in short the flipping a consumer does has little impact on Ford, so they have no reason to bring trouble by trying to stop it. And they certainly aren't going to throw a hand gernade like trying to void warranties over a legal vehicle sale.

There are some good dealers still, not many, I bought mine in Brownsburg, IN and it is being built this week. The new sticker was $3K more at $35,150. My dealer is going to honor my original price of $31,500. I guess because I have a bill of sale and pre-traded my truck. My salesmen told me that, we'll see when I pick it up at the end of the month. 2022 Lariat Hybrid, RR, FE, mud flaps and bug shield only added options beside what it comes with. It will be little over one year from my order date of 8/20.

Love this. I ordered Oct 14th and have no build date. Dealership called to tell me one of their sales persons ordered a loaded Lariat, thinking it would take several months to arrive. A few weeks later, an almost identical vehicle arrived at the dealership. She decided to lease that one, and the dealership would put the one she ordered on the lot. Knowing my XLT might not get built this year, they offered me the Lariat she ordered at MSRP. It arrives tomorrow. The Lariat is about $4000 more than the XLT. I'm willing to pay that for the upgrades. I realize as an employee she may have been quoted below MSRP, but they currently have an almost identical Lariat on their lot for $13000 over what I'm paying. I told them if they sell me the one they already have on the lot, I would bring a check and pick it up the next day. No dice. They paid a "premium” for that one, so they couldn’t go that low. Keeping my fingers crossed that the truck arrives there tomorrow. But not holding my breath.
Good thing I decided not to hold my breath. Delivery now between 8/12 & 8/16. I’m super confident this isn‘t happening then, either.

They can't do that. They can make a financial penalty in the sales contract that you can't sell for a period. That's not uncommon in high end luxury custom vehicles. Doubt Ford would want the headache. But they can't void the warranty.
Actually any manufacturer can do that by simply adjusting the limited warranty. It is called a "limited" warranty for a reason.
Heres a link from a lemon law attorney discussing Chevy talking about doing it to the corvettes.

This will be struck down on first challenge. It's making an end run around the laws in place to prevent manufacturers from doing this. They can't do this any more than they can put in the warranty you must get your oil changed at a dealer. There are laws in place preventing this and it won't work.

You are right about Mfgs not being able to dictate where you get your oil changed but that aspect does not apply here. The mfgs can and do dictate oil viscosity, spark plug specks, tranny oil weight, coolant, airconditioner refrigerant etc. Along with mileage and time frame for services to be done. If you deviate from anyone of those you may lose the warranty on that part.
If Ford or Chevy decide that for your vehicle to stay warranted they can put a time frame that you must keep that vehicle registered to you. Say one year. They can also just decide their warranties are not transferable. Plenty of products on the market that do that now though not in their best interest to do that.
You are right it will be challenged in court if it happens and who knows which way it will go. I dont think Ford or Chevy will go there though. Bad for business.

My local dealer has a nice Mav on the lot at $10K over. It's been sitting there for some time. A few months ago it would have sold in a day. I think the days when people were scrubbing the Web across the nation to buy a Maverick at any cost are over, and dealers haven't figured that out yet. I might be wrong about that, but I know at least one nice cactus gray Maverick just sitting on the lot for weeks now with that $10K markup unsold.

Part of me wonders if the dealer, who's pretty cool actually, just does the markup so it doesn't sell and they have something for test drives?
Every day a new problem arises.. let's get the kinks worked out and put these prices back to normal.

Last October when I first started looking at the Maverick in earnest, a local Darcars dealer had a VB Maverick on the lot with a $7K markup and an additional $3500 Darcars Assurance charge. I asked what the heck assurance was and the salesman said it was paint sealer. I guess that meant that they waxed it before putting it out on the lot.
