Just so you know, BAK/REV is the same company. REV makes the one you buy from Ford with the silver color under the roll-up (X2). BAK's version (the X4s) is black underneath. The X4s has the opposite issue...where it's just a little long and you may need to use a little more force to close the tailgate. If you have the tailgate spoiler like I do, you also have to trim the top corners of it to not hit the tonneau rails. The good thing is, no water in the bed.
That's great to hear! I will have to check in to my cover more. Thanks for the information

Hi did you get Bak brand then? If you did how did it seal against the tail gate?
Yep, I did get the BAK MX4. I like it fine. It merely sits on the top of the tailgate, but not enough to impede the gate's operation whether the cover is off or on. The rubber moulding on the backside of the cover is enough to keep out the water. Have yet to run this one through a car wash, but I had the same BAK on my Chevy Colorado and it wasn't a problem. Just make sure you install the drain tubes correctly. The Maverick has smaller drainage holes in the bed and they're rubber rather than hard plastic. I used an Xact-o knife to cut a small X in the middle and squeezed the drainage tube through. Using this method, the tube won't come out (unless you want it to).

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I didn't have the over length problem with the BAK X4 and the tailgate works without issues. Perhaps because I don't have a tailgate spoiler.

How did you get that price? I had to pay $1179 after tax from RealTruck
I emailed that Alex guy and he sent me a link to purchase at that price. It was back in November, so maybe the prices have gone up since then.

I was just chatting with someone at Tonneau Factory Direct and he quoted $950 for the BAKFlip MX4 or the same for the cover I prefer, the Undercover UltraFlex. Free delivery.

That's where I got mine. Apparently, the price went up about $70 since I got mine in Feb. I had one on a previous truck and was very satisfied with the construction and quality. You'll be happy with your decision.

Sorry for bringing a thread back from the dead.
But does anyone have a decent picture of the x2 installed? And for those that went x4, what made you do that? I’m currently going back and forth on my decision. Online it says the x2 has flat and almost seamless edges, but the x4 doesn’t appear to be raised much more. 🤷🏻‍♂️
First truck/tonneau for me. Just trying to make an informed decision before I drop a thousand on something. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply. The x2 from Ford, meaning from ford accessories? Did I read somewhere that bak revolver makes that? (9 months of reading up, everything is jumbling together at this point).
According to this thread, the x4 might be a little longer.

Anyone know of an issue with the x2 or X4 sitting too low with the bed extender?

The x2 is from Ford accessories. I don't know anything about the cover being too low for the bed extender. Maybe a Ford dealership could help you with that question. I also did see a video on YouTube a while ago about the bed extender and the roll up cover. You can try to look it up on YouTube.
