Careful with Autonation in Texas, I know more than mine have a mandatory add on like paint protection, ceramic, tint, etc around $1k.


I told my dealer not to tint the windows or touch the paint on my Mav (if I ever get it that is). I want to do a ceramic after market seal and any add-on sealant to the paint will have to be removed. Whether or not I decide to do it is still to be seen. Regardless, it gets me out of the 'mandatory' upcharge - else they have some tap dancing to do. I can get quality tinting (with a 10 year warranty) done for less than $300.

Are you South South ? 2 out of 3 dealers in Corpus I have dealt with have some BS add on. Autonation was up front, Sames is a giant Charlie Foxtrot, they just told me about 2 weeks ago. I doubt that order ever even made it in properly.

Make sure to order the trailer hitch option factory installed, only around $100 or so.

Don't need to use a hybrid fwd to tow since I still have my F-150 and can use it as a tow pig if needed. Saves me the $100. Can use it somewhere else.

I don't remember which one I called, but I was chasing a cancelled order and it was sold. The sales guy asked to put me on a list for cancellations or orders next year. I asked about ADM, and any add ons and he said ADM on cancelled orders, mandatory package on EVERY sale so I passed.

If I get rolled to a 2023, I am going to push when they have to update the ROVP to get it in writing that I don't have to get any of that crap, because if I don't give my license over again, they lose the order.

I told my sales person I wanted to see my truck as soon as it comes IN. Not, when it is ready for pick up. Already warned them.....no coating 'cuz I am doing a ceramic coat and no tint.

I don't think youy want them to even clean it. A number of Ceramic coating suppliers have said on Youtuve ( including a guy named Pan who has a huge following)don't let the dealers touch the paint. Good chance that if the dealership does you will need paint correction before you do the coating rather then just clay...
