Can someone explain to me what the priority code is/means for my order (priority code 19) My dealer tells me it just means that it is a retail order and doesn't change, however I see people on here talking about their codes being 10 or 2.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your dealer can set your code between 10 and 19. 19 means you are lowest priority. A regional director will set those designated for preview between 1 and 9!with the 1s under preview then 2 etc. when they run out of unconstrained 1s they go to unconstrained 2s so on and so forth. Ford then reviews them and when the assembly line is building what and puts them into the production queue and they get assigned a VIN then they get built, inspected, shipped, prepped, DIO’d, finally free for release/delivery

"Lowest priority' is a bit harsh, it makes it sound like it will never get made. 19 is actually the default priority for customer orders. If the dealer were to assign, say, '10' then that would allow that order to be scheduled before the other orders that dealer has in the system when the allocation window opens for that vehicle line. It does not indicate a higher priority over a 19 from a different dealer. It is all governed by the revolving trap door for the dealer's allocation window.

Just as an example, a stock unit may have a priority of 80. You put your order in and it is a 19. When the allocation window opens for 1 unit your order slides in ahead of the stock unit. The stock unit then sits there waiting to be scheduled until the next allocation window opens. If another customer order is placed before that next window then that customer order drops through and the stock order has to wait again. The allocation windows are vehicle line specific so the window for the Mustang and F150 are different.

submission of allocations to the region for the 1-9 range are tagged with the dealers priority code first (10-19) it is visible to the regional guys and they take it into account it is true that each dealer is assigned a certain number of allocs, but 19 is the lowest TBO available. So if there come open 2 slots due to a dealer not filling their alloc, do you think the region is going to fill two identical vehicles with a 10 and a 19 or a 10 and another 10?

So my question is how can I have my dealership get my code to a 10? I asked and they simply said they can’t change it. I’m going in to the dealership today to talk about my order. Any tips on how to have them up my code to a 10?

I’ve heard both sides on this. Some think that there’s a significant difference between 10 and 19, others said it didn’t matter.
Not sure who’s correct but I had a Priority Code of 19 on my order and even though I didn’t order til mid July, I already have a build date.
Sure didn’t seem to hurt me too much.

I agree 10-19 doesn't matter much, it's the regional Ford guy that has the power. I went from a 19 to a 02.... 3 or 4 weeks ago. And there it sits until they start assigning VINs

Just ask them. Mine did it when I mentioned the code and asked what it meant.

I ordered on July 19th, had my order confirmed by Ford the same day. Hope I have as much luck as you in the next few weeks!

If everything at that dealership is a 19, it’s only going to make a difference if another dealership in that region has unfilled allocs that meet your build. But if every other maverick is lower number/higher priority they will be filled first as allocs become available.

I ordered on 6/24/21, but did not see a Priority Code at that time.

On 8/6 I got an "over the shoulder" view of the list on the dealer's computer. My code was 12, but the retail orders I could see ranged from one at 11 to three at 12, then others down to 19. I think I was their second or third order. They were a mix of 2.5L and 2.0L.

The dealer sent me a copy of the DORA on 8/19 and it showed a Priority Code of 02. The dealer said that code was assigned by the factory.

This is my question too. My dealer said the 10-19 priority codes are not really being used by Ford. He said all the Mavs at his location are getting the same standard priority. It is a matter of allocation of resources I think. Is my dealer wrong? If I asked him to make me #10, would it make a difference? I ordered a Hybrid Lariat.

I think the 1-9 is attached by the region and used by the factory to determine build order, the Vin is assigned by the factory once build order is established. This is the part I am uncertain about but I have heard it more often and it makes more sense to me.
