I picked up my Maverick Saturday and only have 50 miles on it. XLT, AWD, lux package, fx4 package, 4k towing package, co 360, sliding widow and full spare.
The good:
Almost everything it's pretty basic, it rides great, I love the seats very comfy, it has lots of power, haven't floored it yet, too new but I can tell it want to go.
I've been driving for 50 years and 35 of those I worked for a car dealer, first as a line tech 10 years then 25 as a manager.
The radio is OK, could be better just can't crank it up which I never do.
The info system is bare bones compared to vehicles I've been driving but has everything I need except wish it was wireless and larger screen wouldn't hurt.
It doesn't feel like a front wheel drive vehicle handles good and I like the steering.
I love the engine and transmission has been around a while and has been tested otherwise would of never purchased a first year model.
The bed and tailgate height is perfect for my 5'6" frame,
The not so good nothing BAD yet only 50 miles:
The windows auto up and down, going to take a while to get used to that, again maybe am spoiled but auto up and down has been around a long time.
I haven't had to take my keys out of my pocket in many years, maybe I am spoiled, almost ripped the door handle off a few times getting into locked truck, needs to be keyless and, push button start.
The gear selector, hate it, but will get used to it, I had a f150 with this selector and after a while got used to it, I liked resting my hand on the shifter.
So far theirs nothing BAD or ugly about this truck, I knew what I was getting into before I purchased it, I wanted to spend 30k on a vehicle and the maverick fit the ticket, I know FORD was trying to keep the price down and they did, I got a great looking truck with some nice package's for 31k, the average new car price at about 45k.
For local driving groceries, home depot and road trips you cant beat it.
With a few upgrades that don't cost much this could be a great truck and great deal.
Note:
Had a tapping noise leaving the dealer, easy find passenger seat belt touching B pillar, with widow open.
My dog loves the rear sliding window.

I didn't think AWD was an option when I ordered my XLT.

Me too. I seem to always rest my hand on shifter. Maybe there will be a FITs accessory for the lack of a knob to rest on.

Update:: I have about 300 miles now and have a few more comments about my Maverick, the gas mileage is too good to be true, I SET THE CRUSE AT 68 on highway about 1800 rpm and getting 36.8 miles a gal. with a 2.0 gas engine and 28/30 around town, Am in NY,LI. the speed limit is 55mph but nobody does it, for the most part 10 miles over the limit police wont waste there time ticking you in this area so 68mph is a good speed and saves a lot of almost 5.00 per gal fuel. I still have a half of tank so am thinking this is accurate. I drove about 100 miles at 68 mph and got 36.8 mpg who needs a hybrid.
With the passenger window open still get that seat belt tapping on B pillar, going to wrap it with something. Got used to shifter knob. still fighting with keys always forget them in my pocket when I get in vehicle, my last vehicle had push button start. And lastly the up/down on windows is a pain in the a$$. All in All I love my maverick, am back to basics a few improvements that don't cost much and Ford has something here. .

My build minus the FX4 package that I ordered September 18; 2021. Sounds pretty perfect, especially the MPG’s. No build date yet, but I’m willing to wait, as long as it’s done this year, else I’ll see a Ridgeline in my driveway. Good luck with your Mav
