Im wide awake . Is anyone really going to trust a dealership that just screwed them for an extra 10K?
Are you refusing their trade in offer? If not, then how can anyone trust you? You just traded in a car at a higher value than normal.

It works both ways.

Dealerships need nationwide policy procedure. If they don't follow a 3 year MSRP of new vehicles they will be given 50% less of their normal allocations. The maverick wont be the only one with this issue.
Dealerships are too powerful, this has to be addressed nationally by superseding the anti-competitive laws that the dealership unions have lobbied to put in place over decades that prevents manufacturers from selling to consumers directly.

This is the information age, and most consumers are savvy enough to use a well designed build tool on a website and place a direct-to-home order themselves, and financing is just a couple clicks away. They don't have to touch the dealerships, but when people can order directly from the manufacturer at the same price as dealers pay (as much as 40% below current "street price" for a Maverick), then most dealerships will naturally become redundant and be repurposed in the marketplace.

That way its also first come first serve, instead of one guy getting his three months earlier because he ordered from a dealership with a high allocation while the next guy that ordered a week earlier is still waiting or worse finds out his order wasn't put in properly by the dealer or not locked in on price and so 6 months later he gets all kinds of upcharges he wasn't expecting.

Ford fan for 60 years and this whole process is nothing like I have ever seen before. Anything that might become sellable goes from 20K to 30K by the dealers just because they can. They move them from one parking lot to another and add 10K. Have no choice but to pay these prices unless you want to wait a year or more to get something for MSRP. Ford Inc should and needs to make this stop.
Not all dealers. Unless you live in the middle of Alaska, just go to another one.

It's posts like this that indicate you live under a rock. Surely Ford would like to be able to make their own chips but have you seen what other auto makers are saying about the chip shortages? Apparently not. Sure looks like many other car dealerships have very low inventories. Guess you don't look around.

Dealers mark prices up because there are fewer used cars or new trucks to sell and buyers come in willing to pay the ADM or they leave without. You think Ford is the only one doing this? Still under a rock I guess.

I think you are just angry because you can't get it your way. Times have changed but I think you haven't.

The new way to buy at lowest price is to order the vehicle you want and wait for it. Have a plan to wait till it comes it and have your financing in order. I got and used an old Honda Civic till my truck arrived. I got what I had in the Civic so not extra cost. I will bet there has been times you thought ahead. Did you forget how?

We need more bitching about things we can't change because I'm sure Ford is listening since they sell more trucks than they can make. WHAT-EVER...

No, but some people really need a new vehicle in this very tough market. Used car deals aren’t much better.

I bet you didn't have a problem when dealerships were selling for 10000 under MSRP!

Are they allowed to sell below MSRP?

CARVANA is loosing millions and wont last another year. Checkout the latest stock report.
Not to mention all the law suits they are facing from AG's across several states and even civil law suits by individuals. There are so many customers they have sold vehicles too and they don't even have the title for them, so this leaves the buyer unable to get them properly registered.
