I understand your point. I have a Ram Diesel 2500, 2005 MY. If not pulling my fifth-wheeler, I get 21.5 gpm. Of course, diesel is about a dollar/gallon more right now than regular. However, my miles pulling it are limited and I am downsizing on the camper.

I noted there are uses for larger trucks: I would also guess that a lot of those who drive the really big trucks, seldom have a need for their capabilities. When I mentioned the amount of gas to be used by the trucks in the picture, I was basing that on the OP's truck being a hybrid.

Stay Safe!

Someone was asking on FB about which 2500 series truck is "best". Someone commented they love theirs- except the thousand dollars they're spending on gas every month getting to work and kids to school etc...

Give me the "little" one, please!

People that actually use the capacity of their trucks is great!

Too often they buy a big truck and never ever use half the capacity...

Most people here who buy bigger trucks need them for hauling or payload or crew space. People here generally buy big truck-based SUV's for their families and inclement weather if they don't need a big truck with a bed

I guess we are smarter in Canada?

It's almost like a significant portion of the population is incapable of doing simple arithmetic and thinking at least one step ahead.

I stopped by the local Ford dealer to order a bed rug and hood protector and of course parked in the truck area between some of my new Maverick’s older cousins.

Here's a Maverick we parked next to at Menards. We have the red Equinox on the left. Equinox is plenty large enough.

1) it’s not that small in person, it’s quite comparable to a mid size.
2) the maverick is parked further back which makes it look even smaller
My Maverick takes up more room in the garage than the Cmax did!

Now this shows you just how insane the size of trucks has gotten. For day to day commute in a huge massive truck - it would be a huge waste of resources. On the other hand these solid work trucks are truly work horses for those with a big business requiring that power - the Maverick fills a very welcome space in the people mover category for occasional haul something lifestyles.

I hear ya! But I really wonder if that's true. Back in the 80s trucks were much smaller and we all seemed to get by. I mean the Silverado for 1984 was all the truck you needed it pulled pretty good... It's fantastic what we can get today but I really wonder if we NEED it all. That's why I LOVE the Maverick.

Would not want to haul a family of 5 in a Mav. Even 4 would not make for a great road trip.

Bug truck based SUV’s are huge here but mostly people in Superduty size trucks need the trucks capabilities.
