He is trying to push you away from your order because he knows there are buyers that will pay their mark ups.
Oh I know that, like I said I even have it in a text him saying he spoke to 5 people who are trying to buy it and that's why I haven't walked away from this sale and don't plan too.

Wow! Sorry about that. It seems to me that more and more of these pre-ordered Mavericks are getting ADM and/or useless add-ons. I know there are a couple dealerships where I live that were selling their cancelled ordered Mavericks on their lot for MSRP back in Oct, Nov and such, but now sell them for huge markups or add-ons. It's like they've jumped on some kind of gravy train bandwagon. I don't think Ford CEO's press release a couple months ago had any effect on these dealerships. On some of the FB group's posts, people are getting their orders with suprise mark-ups added.
Yup, well maybe instead of limiting allocation for these know unethical dealership they should just allow them 1 vehicle a month max! Or better yet rewrite the franchise laws/rules so they can control or even fire these dealerships.

You picked the wrong dealer.
contact Ford, a lawyer, the BBB, and take to social media including their website.

Attack. Smear their name everywhere and anywhere that you can.
Don’t be nice! Crush these assholes everywhere and anywhere that you can. This is is criminal and make Ford look bad.
Well, we only got 3 dealers on Oahu and I already saw one of the others, that's the one that claims to have said the buyer requested $2500 worth of addons. And yes I'm making some calls come monday, as for social media, waiting for an outcome because I don't want the truck screwed around with before I pick it up (if I end up getting it that is), I don't want no issues because once I get it I don't ever plan on having to go back there (fingers crossed).

This kind of thing scares the hell out of me. I wasn't one of the early ones like most here so I cant order till August 16th for 2023. BUT if this kind of crap is happening it really makes me think twice about ordering one. .

To OP. Name the dealer please. Can and will they just ignore your signed order? I would like to know what happens here.
Think you mean August 16, 2022? If you on the mainland, there are many good honest dealers out there, and now that the trucks are out you can see (by this forum and others) which are good and which are BAD.

I'll hold off on publishing who the dealer is for now. If you or anyone is asking because you are on Oahu then let me know and I will PM. I don't know if they can but currently that's what they are doing. And yes, I'll update as this story continues on...

Our truck is getting to the dealership this weekend or Mon. I have been dreading this part as much as being happy the finish line is in sight. The truck is for my husband but I have had to manage everything about this process, he doesn't have time and I am far better at getting problems solved. We already had the salesman try to sell our order out from under us, the salesman already knows I am a come out swinging & fully loaded fighter 🤭 My husband agreed to pay $1500 over MSRP and is totally clueless about how dealers get add ons etc you don't want. Part of me just wants to accept what my husband will on pricing b/c I'm so over this but they are already getting profit & the salesman has done nothing to deserve a commission.

It really is too bad after all the waiting, fighting w our salesman, and this ridiculous whole process we have to dread dealing w pricing & probably financing at the end when we have all copies of our paperwork signed. Maybe they won't try to screw us over but I have to be ready.

In the end, he probably won't rely on the claim that you agreed to the higher price.

Instead, he will likely just say that he never gave you an agreed price.

You can try whatever pressure you are able to apply in order to get a fairer deal. But legally it doesn't look like you have much of a claim. Your statement in your opening post (that you asked for a final price back in the summer and he wouldn't give you one) is pretty much an admission that you never had an agreement on price.

It's a dirty way to do business, but they are likely to get away with it. Maybe you can shame them into doing better.
Yah, true. This is why Ford needs to be more clear on what is binding or not. Some people are saying the sign build sheet should be enough and other say its not. Again, I am not at a point of discussing this with a lawyer and hopefully will not go that far. As for the final price I wanted the out the door price, taxes and fees because I needed to make sure I had enough funds to buy it, as for an agreed upon price, this is where the question of is the build sheet and online order form (both signed) enough... I guess we shall soon find out...

I'd bypass that salesman and go to the Sales Manager at this point.
Well, I'm going straight to Ford or trying to get good advise or guidance from the forum. I already got a sore taste from this dealership in them allowing the sales team to treat customers like I am being treated and don't want to sit there for hours while they play their lets see how long he's going to sit in the show and wait games with me

When you say "both signed" ... do you mean signed by you and the dealer or just by you?

Good Luck I hope it all works out. Even though it is still wrong, I probably would have paid the $1500 over if that's what they tried to push off on me but $8000+ that's BULLSHIT and because of that I ain't playing no let's make a deal games now.

The bad thing for me (lucky for the dealer and salesman) I am an easy going person, well until a point, then watch out! lol

FYI, Ford complaint line: (800) 392-FORD.

They'll try to mollify you with a "What, me worry?" temperament, yet it
is better to get something on the record than to remain mute

Just by me. In the normal world that is enough because its their form with their Company name on it which does make it binding but the automotive world plays by a different set of rules. It's like any normal franchise, corporate can shut down a franchisee but yet Auto dealers can't even enforce cost...
