How do you do a master reset? Never heard of that… maybe it’ll fix my issues too
In the main screen (center dash) in settings you can do a reset to factory settings. You will lose any settings you put in or adjusted and start over like you just bought the truck. Same as a phone reset to factory settings.

Isn’t it still called a parking brake or is this different ? Never had brake hold

edit. Just looked this up.

So it’s for if you’re too fucking lazy to hold the brake at a stoplight ???? Would not trust that.
3 brakes.

"Parking brake" a physical caliper that holds on to two wheels (the rears in our case). You can hear it extend when you pull the parking brake lever.

"Foot pedal brakes" brake rotors on all four wheels, but with primary braking force applied to the front two. This is what auto hold engages, indeed for people too lazy to hold it at a stoplight.

"Putting it in park" a piece of metal that latches on to the transmission gear so that it physically cannot rotate the driveshaft, and therefore the rear. Unrelated to the previous two, only engages when you shift into park.

“Go pedal”? How old are you, three? 😀
Aaarrrggghhh! Matey... Someone needs to name what used to be called the gas pedal and the brake pedal to something more appropriate as both now have multiple and somewhat overlapping functions. The old "gas" pedal now releases the brake and depending on operator use engages the electric drive motor or if pushed harder starts the ice and even if pressure is reduced can engage the generator and slowly reduce speed to creep speed. So it seems like "go pedal" may be appropriate unless someone comes up with something better. I don't think gas, throttle, accelerator properly describe it's function. Maybe "Drive Pedal" or "the right Pedal" or "?". What would be a good name for the "left" pedal which also has multiple functions as it has to be pushed in order for the "start" button to be activated. Activating generator as well as the hydraulic brakes and if pushed a little harder after coming to a complete stop will activate the auto hold braking if the operator has chosen to turn that function on. It obviously should not be referred to as just a "brake" pedal. 😳?

Nice discussion of auto hold. However, the chiming was caused by SYNC-3 being confused. YOBY confirmed this by a master reset correcting it.

Same! What the hell!
It’s in the menu on the dash screen via buttons on the steering wheel. It’s where you can check off the displays you want to see. You can only have 4 or 5 but there is like 6 or 7 to choose from. I figured it out on my lariat Saturday.

Remember when buttons had words on them instead of hieroglyphics? Left little to chance. Now everything is best guess.

ha my wife still doesn't seem to know

The Master Reset worked for me because the Software and Firmware were loaded correctly at the factory. It could have gone badly for me, and I may have been calling Ford to tow it away. For me that wasn't much of a risk, because they were getting the truck back one way or another.

What I'm saying, if you choice to try this, it's all on you, but they wouldn't give us the option if they thought it wasn't necessary? :) GET OFF THIS BUTTON THING, it was a bell ringer for me at the time and did nothing else.

It would probably been to hard to print BRAKE HOLD

Just checked it out with wife. Pedestrian warning system. I could tell when my wife asked what the hell is that noise?

Somebody else verify.
Was there a scream between the bang sound and whimpering that you mistook for a bird chirping?

Problem resolved, didn't want to do this but I did a master reset in settings and everything works including the brake hold. Unfortunately, I need to put all my settings back in. Thankfully, Ford gave us a in truck bailout instead of running to the dealer every time a software error rears its ugly head.
Don't turn the bird on when you restore your settings

When a master reset (restore factory settings) is done what happens to the updates that the dealer entered due to all of the recalls?
